Dark Thriller
An exhilarating thriller that switched from the perspective of News Correspondent Anna and her ex a DCI. They are both covering / investigating a death that strikes a little too close to their past.
The other voice of the murder is pretty disturbingly portrayed in the audiobook but once you get used to it its an exciting and twisty tale with a lot of disturbing moments. I lost my download of the audiobook somehow halfway through but luckily had an ebook copy I jumped straight int to finish and the memory of the creepy voice followed me.....
I kept thinking I knew what was going on but the strong and twisty writing of Alice Feeney kept me on my toes and left me satisfied all the way. This has everything I want from a dark thriller, disturbing but gripping.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my copy.

I received an ebook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am a lover of historical fiction and love anything paranormal so this story was one I was much anticipating so here goes.
Our heroine Eliza Robinson is sent to stay with her Aunt Mauve in the puritan community of Maybrook.
She comes to escape gossip after a refusal of marriage to her fathers business partner Mr. Thomas Beesly.
Eliza hears ghostly voices and later that night her aunt is murdered in her bed leading our Eliza on an adventure of ghosts murder romance and an old Journal belonging to Helena the deceased mother of our hero Jonathan Porter who supposedly drowned when Jon was a child.
I could say a lot more about this book but don't want to spoil it for anyone needless to say it was an excellent read and i really enjoyed it i do so love a happy ending give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Cyn Armistead (14 KP) rated Sem Rasto (Darby McCormick #1) in Books

I have absolutely no idea how I came across this book. I'm glad I did, though. It was very well-written, and the character of Darby McCormick was fleshed out very thoroughly. I don't normally read many books of this genre, though I do watch shows like Criminal Minds.
The reveal as to the final villain felt somewhat off, - if I hadn't been reading an ebook, I probably would have flipped back to figure out what clues I had missed. That isn't quite as simple on an ereader, so I didn't, but I did spend time thinking it over. I read the book very quickly, when I wasn't feeling well, so it's entirely possible that I did miss something that I would have ordinarily caught.
I'll look for another book in the series to see if it is more intellectually satisfying for me, since I did like Darby and the overall writing style was enjoyable.

_____ 5 Star Rating _____
I thought this collection of poetry was fantastic as it gave me proper belly laughs.
This author really knows how to write great poetry...

It was weird, random, hilarious and I honestly could not fault the rhyming; that is some skill!
If I was really hunting for anything negative I would say that it could do with a bit more editing as I did notice a few mistakes, not enough to knock off any points though.
If you would like something random to read I would recommend picking this one up as it is a short, easy to read book that once you start you just have to finish it.

What could be better than free books??
I love getting by daily email of book bargains (: most days I end up downloading a free book, not quite sure I will get round to reading them all so I now have to be quite selective over my books.
Everyday there are some free recommendations and some which you have to pay for but are still a bargain. I only ever get the books which are free as there are that many books and not enough time to read them that I have to whittle down the list somehow.
I also only look at amazon as a retailer although there were most other common ebook sellers available to pick and you could pick multiple retailers. I always get a good selection so I assume the others are similar.
Overall just a brilliant idea and it saves me loads of time finding books to read as I get daily suggestions based on the genre preferences (: seriously if you read then sign up now!!

Finally got around to reading this one to see what all the fuss was about. I purchased the omnibus ebook on my nook app to have all three after reading the sample a few days prior and it stuck with me. let me just say that the hype is warranted. going into it I really didn't expect to be so entranced by the story, as I haven't read this sort of fantasy in a long time, but I found myself resentful every time real life interfered with my reading forcing me to put it down for a while. I was so absorbed that I even dreamed about it lol. there is something about the authors writing style that hooked me from the beginning, the world building is superb, and the characters were very well developed. I loved that there were plot twists I didn't see coming a mile away, especially at the end. the ending was nicely done, tying up this particular story while also setting up the next book in the trilogy. highly recommended! now I'm on to book two!
