An Hilarious take on the Prince and the Pauper played to great effect by Eddie Murphy as the poor man suddenly thrust into the money markets of Pork bellies and frozen orange juice, it's showing it's age badly now, but still very funny and a good retelling of the Twain classic.

Quite possibly the best non-comedic performance of Eddie Murphy's long and illustrious career.

Don't sleep during the slow parts. There are a lot of things happening that don't seem important in the moment, but very little ends up unimportant in the end. Very much worth the time to watch.

This movie still makes me smile, even though it's been kicking around for a long time. (2 more)
It's a harmless, comedy classic, with starring roles from Dan Ackroyd and Eddie Murphy.
Pork bellies!
The contrast of the rich and the poor...who then end up 'Trading Places' in a tale of sculduggery with humour!

JK once again breaks the rules of her own world. As a serious Potter head I was very excited for the FBAWTFT franchise but this makes a mockery of any previous media. Have a nap instead. I wish I had. (0 more)

a perfect follow up to book one!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is book 2 in the Pleasure Seekers series, but it can be read as a stand alone book. I loved book one, Thrill, and would strongly recommend it but it's not necessary, you know?

I loved Eddie and Scott in book one, and I was looking forward to getting to know them better, because I was fairly certain they are putting on a face for the world. But I discovered, not so much for Eddie. He's very laid back, until he lays eyes on Billy, then all bets are off!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, but I didn't love it, and I don't know why and my book brain hates that I cannot voice why!

I liked Eddie and Billy, separately and apart. We got a lot of Billy's family here, raising his teenage sister and reconnecting with his older brother but we don't get much about Eddie's. I kinda missed that.

There is powerful and immediate attraction for these two and it burns hot and bright through the whole book. That is, until Billy finds out what Eddie did and then, all bets are off again!

Tyler is still living with Eddie and Scott and as such, Tyler and Danny, along with Scott play a large part here. I liked that we got to catch up with them.

Not an especially emotional read, but sometimes, that's just what you need.

Scott is next. Now Scott, I know, is putting on a face, and the poor man has a case of envy, given that his two flatmates are now loved up and I look forward to getting his story!

As I said, I liked this book, just couldn't quite love it though, like book one, (sorry!)

4 very VERY good stars

Capital Crimes
When Joe and Dottie Loudermilk sold everything to enjoy their retirement on the road, one advantage was that it would make it hard for their kids to drag them into difficult situations. However, when they arrive in Washington DC, Dottie arranges for them to have dinner with their son Eddie. The next morning, Eddie is arrested for killing his former roommate. The murder weapon is Eddie’s knife, and the victim was killed after Eddie had a very public fight with him. Despite all of this, Joe and Dottie believe Eddie when he claims to be innocent. But can they prove it?

I’m glad I got to revisit these characters this year because this was a delightful mystery. It was a fast read, but there wasn’t a wasted word as Joe and Dottie track down one lead after another. The twists and turns kept me engaged the entire way through. Joe’s temper is toned down a bit from the first book, and Dottie is a strong narrator of the events. The rest of the cast is just as sharp. While travel is a theme of the series, the little bit of sightseeing that Joe and Dottie do always also serves the plot. I could have done without the smattering of foul language scattered throughout the book, but that is worth nothing mainly in passing. Everything is mixed together with a dash of humor that I enjoyed. If you’ve missed this book, I’ve got great news – you’ll enjoy it.

The Note is a short, fast, fun read written by Andrew Barrett, which features Eddie Collins a Crime Scene Investigator who has a few problems of his own to solve.

When Eddie discovers someone is out to kill him, he adds the death threats to the rest of his pile and sets out to avoid being killed. He has no idea who wants him dead, or when it will happen so he spends the next few hours cautious and paranoid wondering who his killer might be and when he will strike.

Andrew Barrett’s The Note is actually the first book featuring Eddie Collins and the first book I’ve read by this author. With a great plot, a fun, humorous writing style and a clever twist in the tale, I’m definitely intrigued to read more of this series: four of which are full length novels.

A short, sharp and surprising storyline, I literally flew through this book. I highly recommend to all crime fans! I want more!

With thanks to Bloodhound Books and Andrew Barrett for my digital copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of this book.

"I think 48 Hrs. is the perfect tough, funny buddy movie. I think Eddie Murphy exploded off of it — he was on Saturday Night Live, but…in his intro when he’s singing “Roxanne,” and going to the hillbilly bar, and Nick Nolte being such a hilarious, racist prick. I loved it. “Sorry about the watermelon joke.”"

"There was a movie called Animal Factory; it was [written] by Eddie Bunker, and it was directed by Steve Buscemi. It’s probably the best prison movie that’s ever been made. It’s unbelievable. I actually helped produce that. Eddie had the script, was running around with it for a while, and then gave it to me and said, “See what you can do with it.” I remember handing it to Steve Buscemi on Con Air, and I said, “Here, Steve. Read this or I’ll kill you.” [laughs] And he read it. He loved it, but he said, “Danny, there’s nothing really in it for me,” and I said, “No, no, no, we want you to direct it.” So he got Willem Dafoe, and when he got Willem Dafoe, everybody else kind of jumped on it."
