Erika (17789 KP) rated A Cat's Tale: A Journey Through Feline History in Books

This book was slightly silly, but presented stories about historical felines that were interesting. Cats have gotten the shaft all throughout history, excluding Ancient Egypt, of course.

I chose this book because of its links to Egypt, my brother is an Egyptologist so it tweaked my interest.
I quite enjoyed the back and forth of the story from Egypt to England and vice versa. And I enjoyed the writing style, I found it quite Dan Brownesq.
All in all a good book, and a good story, which is quite exciting at times.
My only criticism would be that he seems to go off track sometimes .

would definitely recommend this book. A novel about the rise of Amunhotep ( Akhnaton) - pharaoh who originated the worship of a single God in Egypt, and his wife Nefertiti. The story is definitely absorbing.
David McK (3649 KP) rated The Curse of the Pharaohs (Amelia Peabody, #2) in Books
Jan 30, 2019
Second entry in Elizabeth Peter's Amelia Peabody series, which again sees the Victorian archaeologist - now married, and with a young kid - again back in Egypt, and again faced with a (seemingly) supernatural foe.

Lizzi Lewins (73 KP) rated the PlayStation 4 version of Assassin's Creed: Origins in Video Games

This was my first foray into Assassins Creed and I wasn't disappointed. As a huge fan of ancient Egypt when I heard about the tour mode I thought it was time to give it a try. The map is huge and I love how well the graphics bring ancient Egypt to life. The tours are interesting and I have learnt a few things I didn't know while working through them. I haven't completed it yet but have enjoyed all gameplay so far.
David McK (3649 KP) rated The Ten Commandments (2006) in TV
Nov 30, 2025 (Updated Nov 30, 2025)
2006 mini series that dramatizes the story of Moses, as told in the Old Testament, with Part 1 dealing with him being brough up in Egypt, his killing of a Egyptian, escape top the desert and return to lead his people from exile (and the Biblical 10 plagues of Egypt), while part 2 instead follows the early years of their Hebrew's wanderings in the wilderness.
Of the two parts, Part One is - in my opinion - definitely the better of the two.
