tapestry100 (306 KP) rated Star Wars: Darth Vader, Vol 1: Vader in Books
Aug 3, 2017
Star Wars: Darth Vader, Vol 1 is the first collected edition of Marvel's new run of Darth Vader comics, and it's an interesting story. Taking place shortly after Episode IV, the story follows multiple threads: Vader trying to figure out exactly who Luke is; Vader and Palpatine's relationship; and Palpatine's hidden agenda for Vader. I was actually impressed with this volume, and liked how it tied into elements from Marvel's main Star Wars title as well.

Great black comedy with serious elements
This is one of those smaller films that comes out of nowhere and ends up being very enjoyable. It's mostly a black comedy but with some serious and sombre overtones. It's got a fantastic cast, by far one of Colin Farrell's best films and Ralph Fiennes is great as bad guy Harry. It's well written with some brilliant dialogue, and the setting in Bruges is just beautiful. Never fails to make me laugh.
Poorly developed characters (1 more)
Plot holes
This book follows the story of survivors of what appears to be a major terrorist attack. It's suspenseful but sometimes feels forced. It's not something I think i will ever pick up again but it's an enjoyable enough read for someone who is a fan of Stephen King. There are many elements to the story that make it clear that this book fits well within the standard "King" writing style.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) in Movies
Feb 19, 2018
A decent entertaining action film based on the 2nd Prince of Persia video game. Not played the game but it seems the main elements and plot to the game made it into the film alright. This has a good cast, pretty good CGI and produced by Walt Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer! So not too bad, pity didn't get a cinema release. If you liked films along the lines of The Mummy, Scorpion King you will enjoy this.

Chloe (514 KP) rated The Darkest Minds in Books

Even though the books so dark it is seen through the eyes of someone who at least compared to the other characters in the book is so innocent as a result readers are left in a state of shock with the main character as they experience this roller coaster (1 more)
With her. The book really has anything you could ask for romance adventure and fantasy and the author does such a good job at displaying these elements appropriately.

I feel the magic
This film for me is magical. I know loads of people says it creeps them out, but to me it just takes me back to those moments when I was a child and felt as if Santa was real. It is just pure wonder and awe and a great adventure. i love that they add some ghost elements as well in a nod to Christmas traditions of old.
