Scrappy Little Nobody is a cute, relatable celebrity book. Anna Kendrick charms you with her unique perspective and opens up in ways she hasn't before. The book is not generally funny, nor do I believe it's meant to be, but it has its moments and stories that make you laugh. She is definitely a more normal celebrity who shares some of her confusion about the industry, fashion, and events. You realize its nor all glitz and glamour, but these are real people with emotions, problems and they get just as overwhelmed and pleased as we would if we were receiving an award. It's not the best celebrity book I've read, but it was enjoyable and I recommend it if you're a fan of hers.

Absolute garbage. This novel is everything I loathe about romance: flat characters who clearly shouldn't be together, and a nonexistent plot. The male is the stereotypical, dime a dozen cold Alpha males who can't have emotions because of reason. The female was the stereotypical down on her luck girl next door who always gets the short end of the stick. There was nothing about either that made them special and the conversation made me want to slam my head repeatedly against a wall. And then she becomes pregnant, and the already bad story goes downhill.

I am glad it was free because I would have be furious had I paid money for this. I am already annoyed that I wasted the time reading it.

Great Action, Watch for Emotions
My son and I watched Avengers: Infinity War tonight. There were a few good laugh-out-loud moments mixed in with all the action and seriousness of the war. I shed a few tears at the end (of course). I have to admit that I have not watched all the Marvel movies and so a few of the characters were hard for me to identify, but this did not detract from the story. A few things would have made more sense had I watched the other movies leading up to this.
It is okay for children, my 9 year old understood what was going on and why parts were sad. He handled it well.

Eleanor & Park
Eleanor & Park
Rainbow Rowell | 2016 | Young Adult (YA)
Nothing like I expected from the very beginning. I got this book because a search had said it was a "fluff book". There was no way this was a fluff book, but I'm totally not mad about it.

The hardships from the very beginning of Eleanor, the differences between her and Park and the way that their relationship blossomed and changed her outlook and behaviour and feelings was a joy to read.

It was upsetting, it was a struggle, it was great, it was beautiful, it was sweet, it was all the emotions. It was upsetting...did I say that already. Ugh, but boy did I love it. So good, first book from this author, I'll definitely have to read more.

Emotionally gripping (1 more)
Multiple person view/take
Wonder had me gripped from the first five minutes. The story is emotionally touching from the very first scene. I personally absolutely love how they portrayed every character in first person with their own aspect of the story, while not jumping around and making the story hard to understand. It also somewhat forces the viewer to understand the emotions felt by each character, because of their place in the family, and family situation. Without spoiling the film, I can say personally it is easy to feel for other characters than the youngest child.

All in all the film flows well, has an incredibly touching story to which many I feel could possibly learn from.

There were many things that attracted me to this novel by Bauermeister, first she’s from the Pacific-Northwest which is where I live. She lives in Seattle I live in Vancouver. The second, cooking, food, learning to cook, all things that I am fascinated with and want to explore more with includes me actually getting into my kitchen and cooking. Not only that, she appreciates the smells, textures, emotions, and all the ingredients that make up a recipe, not only for eating, but for your own life.
I identified with all of the characters, Tom, Chloe, Clair, Lillian, Antonia, Carl, Helen, and Ian. Lillian’s the teacher and the rest students. So worth reading, I devoured each page like a fine pasta dish from Italy. I recommend it.

My favourite book of 2018
Well I brought this book as heard so so many good reviews, like most books I try not to read spoilers as I enjoy the surprise! ..I was not disappointed I took it on holiday to Mexico and sat by the pool all day turning page after page ..the only disappointment I got was when I finished it!

It’s a strange feeling when your climbing deep into a book , thinking you know the characters well then ‘bang’ you don’t know them at all. It’s such a gorgeous love story but with twists I was not expecting I felt all sorts of emotions all the way through.

I will be reading more of Katherine’s books she is very talented

Great story overall but pacing issues
This was a great story affected by some pacing issues in my opinion, thus the rating which might surprise some people. Overall, I feel good about the storyline, the character development and the gut-punching emotions. I do think it could have been a little shorter and more dynamically paced. I wasn’t sure if I was going to settle into Tudor England, it took some time but I did settle.

Matthew and Diana’s relationship dynamic was rather different in past times, I found it inevitable, interesting and sometimes annoying. I loved the band of waifs and strays that became part of their family.

Great narration and I’m already lamenting that Times Convert won’t have Ikeda.
