An amazing story !
I think that this book was just the change of pace I needed. Such a refreshing story line and some great characters that wouldn't let me put the book down. Mercy and Caleb really have to learn the concept of communication, they learn that even when you are unsure of what reaction you might get you have to talk. They are a great example of everyday couples. We also see glimpses into how a communities deals with massive fires, I love Kelly Irvin's descriptions of emotions here through all the different characters. This book can be read as a stand alone, however, I think that there will be more books in this series (Or at least I hope so !). I can not wait to read what comes after this one.
I volunteered to read this book from Zondervan Fiction in return for my honest opinion. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

Jessica spoke to the old me. The me that was bullied in school, felt like her parents didn't care, cut herself at night to keep the emotions and depression at bay. Reading the beginning of her story brought all that back and I was able to mourn along with Jessica. I was all for Jace when he came to her rescue, I was weary of Kingsley when he first introduced himself. It didn't take long for me to switch teams, though. Jace kept messing up and Kingsley was so beautifully broken. The ending tore through me. I don't like to cry when reading, but I couldn't hold back the tears when I read the last chapter. I'm glad there's a second part, I would like to watch Jessica heal after Kingsley's death. The ending also felt a bit abrupt, with Jace suddenly coming back into her life, so taking another journey with her will help process that change.

Lindsay (1760 KP) rated Animals at the Office in Books

Ever been new somewhere or place. Well, this is a good book to teach your child or children a valuable lesson about yourself. Animals at the Office portray that meaning though out the book that you learn the value of you and your skills and being unique.
Children should not have to fit into to make friends or be part of a group. You should be able to be yourself and still know your values. This book shows that throughout. The pictures even show the emotions and actions of trying to be someone else.
There is rhyming and the learning of that is nice. I was smiling as I was reading this book. It teaches and gives a valuable lesson throughout. The book is colorful and done well. It a joy to read and see the pictures. In time as today, these books are sometimes forgotten that have value and lessons for children who need to learn.

AJaneClark (3975 KP) rated The Bear in Books

Wow
The Bear is one of the most amazing books that I have read all year. It’s not a typical book for me to pick up off the shelf. It came as one of three books in a monthly subscription purchased for my birthday... but enough about me!
I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone that chooses to read it. But, what I will say is...
“Narrated” by the young Anna, you get to read the absolutely terrifying journey of Anna and her baby brother through the wilderness. This book sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions. It’s a haunting tale, littered with moments that will have you holding your breath, and then breaking the heaviness with a little laugh out loud moment.
This book has stuck with me since finishing it Monday, and I still want to climb between the pages and hug the children! This book is really well written, and captivating from start to finish. I really struggled to put it down.

Brilliant thriller!
Brilliant films with really good characters.
The story line is amazing and allows your to fully understand the characters feelings and emotions and shows what there going through and how tough life is at this moment in time.
It all starts with a lady going through a tough divorce, she is already late trying to get her child to school she looses her biggest client and her soon to be ex-husband is making her life tough. Pulling up to a junction she honks her horn to a guy that doesn't seem to be moving........this was the wrong move as she soon learns this maniac doesn't let things go and begins stalker her and making her pay for her 'rudeness' and unforgiving personality. This is a matter of life and death as she puts everyone she knows in danger, plenty of gore and kept me in the edge of my seat throughout.
Highly recommended.
