Scorching hot and full of emotions - I'm not ready to say goodbye!
STRONGER THAN LONGING is the third and final book in the Chesapeake Days series and features Nico's brother, Taran, as one of our main characters. It starts with him being dumped for being too geeky and too boring. Along comes Silas, newly back in town, to help revive his flagging... confidence.
Both Silas and Taran have their issues to deal with which, in turn, affects how they deal with each other. There was going to be a blow-up at some point, I knew that, it was just a matter of when. In the meantime, until that happened, I got an eyeful of tentative longing, sarcastic wit, and geeky flirting, and I loved every minute of it. These two are H.O.T. both in and out of the sheets.
As always, Ms McIntyre's characters are lifelike and loveable. The situations are not far-fetched, and love wins the day. This makes my hopeless romantic heart happy.
I have loved the Chesapeake Days series and was inconsolable (as I just wasn't ready to let it go) until I read that there will be a spin-off series called Chesapeake Nights. That put the smile back on my face so now I just have to wait patiently!
A brilliant addition to the series that I highly recommend. But read the others first - not because you have to but because you'll miss out on two other fantastic stories if you don't!

This book is simply amazing and it should be read by everybody. I can't put it any plainer than that!
We start of with Clara, an old lady in her garden, feeling all the aches and pains of being over 80-years-old. Then she starts to tell a story, which will quickly enfold you and have you completely entranced, hanging onto every word. She has a tale to tell and she won't finish until she has.
This book raises some important issues, gives you questions, also gives you answers that I personally would love to be true, and makes you ponder. All of this is a good thing as far as I am concerned. I loved how she wasn't comfortable with her 'old-fashioned' values, inside the body of a younger woman. I thought Zachary was a jerk, and refused to admit that I was the same generation as him! I adored Lenny and his eyebrows.
I will not give out anymore to do with the story, except to say that this book blindsided me. I honestly thought I'd just be getting a 'normal, run-of-the-mill' science fiction. What I got was a biographical account, a fascinating story that tore at my heartstrings and emotions. I loved every moment of reading this and certainly didn't want it to end, especially not once it became clear what would happen at the end.
A fascinating concept, executed with perfection, and definitely one to keep. Absolutely recommended. (ps, don't forget the Kleenex)

FALL GUY is a standalone novel that tells the story of Ronan, our Fall Guy, and Gabriel, the bodyguard. Now, you might be thinking it's the same old, boring, bodyguard story and you'd be completely wrong. Yes, Gabriel is the bodyguard, and yes, they fall in love. But, man, the stories they tell along the way will have you hooked.
I loved this story. It was apparent from the beginning that it wasn't as clear-cut as you might expect. I really felt for Ronan and do think he needed a better class of friends. After all, none of them went to see him. None of them even questioned what had happened. Sometimes, people suck!
Was Ronan stupid? I don't think so. I think he was used, his love abused, but stupid? No. His sort of familial love is one I would love to have! And as for Gabriel. He gave his reasons for the decision and I absolutely agree with him. This isn't right all the time but, trust me, when a father is that weak, it takes a lot for him to change, and not everyone can or does.
The only issue I have with her standalone books is just that - they're standalone. I need more from other characters. Isaac, I'm looking at you. Packed full of emotions, this story absolutely delivers. You get steamy moments that are pure love, no unnecessary miscommunications, second chances, and a heart of gold, it's all here. In other words, it's a typical Felice Stevens book and as such, you know I'm going to highly recommend it.

I loved this story. It was apparent from the beginning that it wasn't as clear-cut as you might expect. I really felt for Ronan and do think he needed a better class of friends. After all, none of them went to see him. None of them even questioned what had happened. Sometimes, people suck!
Was Ronan stupid? I don't think so. I think he was used, his love abused, but stupid? No. His sort of familial love is one I would love to have! And as for Gabriel. Khahari Discovering the Meaning of Autism is an excellent educational book for children. It is simple and explains the emotions of Khahari, his friend Omari, and Omari's cousin Jayden.
The boys decide they want to play. Kharhari goes out to play basketball with his friend Omari. When they do, Omari introduces Jayden to Khahari, and they start playing. However, a misunderstood happens when Jayden goes after the ball and takes it inside. Will Khahari and Omari play again, or will a misunderstanding get in the way?
When playing, misunderstandings happen. Things go awry. Will learning about something you do not know and trying to have fun help Khahari and Omari come to an understanding? Can they help teach Jayden how to share by taking turns and playing a game?

simply wonderful!
Independent reviewer for Neon, I was gifted my copy of this book.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Ms Ryecart does holiday stories like no other and I bloody LOVED this!
The last book Ms Ryecart wrote was dark and deadly. And this?? Is so very NOT those things.
Jake has been hiding himself away, working on his suruvual business. Ru finds himself stranded after his car breaks down and there is a blizzard. What follows is Jake slowly descending into life again, with Ru.
What I loved most about this, was that Jake really did not see it coming! It wasn't a meet cute, with Ru waking up with Jake's gun in his face, but even from that point, I think Ru saw it and jake just did not. And it was a lot, a LOT of fun watching him fall hard and fast and really getting blindsided by Ru, in the best way.
There is no real drama, and it's very low on the ansgt scale. Steamy, of yes! Once these two get down and dirty, it heats up nicely.
But it's emotional in a way I didn't quite see coming, and I'm really not sure why I didn't. Much like Jake, I was somewhat blindsided but I loved that I was. Sometimes, it's really great to be slapped upside the head with emotions that come out of nowhere! Might just be me, but just saying how much I loved the emotional attachment that these two develop.
This is, quite simply, a wonderful tale of 2 men falling in love around the Christmas period and it is Ms Ryecart at her very best.
