Dork_knight74 (881 KP) rated Tau (2018) in Movies

Watched a new Netflix original called "Tau". It's a sci-fi thriller about a girl (Maika Monroe) kidnapped by a scientist to experiment on her, coding AI from peoples emotions. She escapes his prison but ends up stuck in his house under the scientist's watch with the assistance of his AI controlled house. Very good acting and story. The effects were pretty impressive and the cinematography was very well done. Netflix continues to make very good original content. Worth a watch!

I honestly think everyone should read this book.
This book blew me away. I honestly think everyone should read this book.
We have all heard about doctors working extra-long hours but really we have no idea what this really means. There are diary entries which had me shocked, gasping for breath, laughing, crying. I read the book in two sittings – I needed a break from the emotions – and would widely recommend this as a must read un-put-downable book.

Good and Bad
Overall not a terrible movie. I think it did one thing really well and one not so well. The look at loneliness in space and the journey of a man to find the father who left him. These are powerful emotions and feeling that I personally relate to and I'm sure there are many others that also relate to this. This is what Ad Astra does really well. However, the overall story is rather lacking in depth other than that.

Well this certainly had a different storyline to the manga I've been reading lately. It was so interesting, especially when we saw them 10 years in the future, too. I even had a little cry myself at that point, they were all still so together, only missing a certain person, and the emotions were flying around.
I'm intrigued as to where this story will go. Will she manage to save him and maybe, hopefully, end up in a happy relationship with him herself?

Hmm...I feel a little cheated that we didn't get to see a future with a happy Naho and Kakeru but at the same time I did still enjoy this ending. <spoiler>They changed his life enough that he didn't end up committing suicide, though it was very heart-stopping for a page or so wondering if he had done it</spoiler>. Not good for my emotions I must point out!
This is definitely up there with my favourite mangas!

Wow!! What an introduction. The horror the Quinn girls went through is spine chilling. The roller coaster of emotions Slaughter put me through with this book was not expected. This hard shell of mine does not allow tearing up reading a book but Slaughter knows how to pull at your heart strings. The details in this book puts her over the top. This was my first Karin Slaughter book and I am definitely picking up more.
