Admittedly, it took me a while to get into this and then I wasn't altogether impressed but it got better the more I read and jeez, was I having a good old cry by the end.

I was truly thinking she'd lost everything she could by prom day and then it all kinda righted itself and the tears were flowing (and still are). The emotions in that last bit...sniffle.

I may have to investigate book 2 in this series if we get more Zeke. I loved him!!

"What an amazing artist! She is the first woman that I was ever introduced to that played classical piano and melded it with her own style and emotions! I think the whole world should know and respect Nina Simone as I believe she is one of the absolute GREATS! The song 'Sinnerman' on this record is one of my all time favorites and whenever I hear her music, it reminds me to be as different, and skillful, and brave that I can be. And this song is the best way to feel this way."

"For all the splendors in this masterpiece, it’s another scene of actors watching a film within the film that left an impression on me. Guido is in a theater watching rushes of various actresses auditioning for the part of his mistress, while his wife (Anouk Aimée)—trying to contain her conflicted emotions—finally gets up to leave. This sequence was the basis for 8½ Screens, an art installation I did for the opening of TIFF Bell Lightbox, the home of the Toronto International Film Festival. There’s a clip of it on YouTube."

This certainly brought out my emotions. I was a hopeless wreck in that last 20% or so. Ugh... the things people do for love. Both characters grew on me so easily. They were both really likeable and then when they got together I was sighing with happiness for them. They were so cute together!

So far it's 2 out of 2 with this series. Let's see if I like Pick and Eva's story as much (though I'm pretty sure I will after those few scenes of them together in this one. So cute!)
