If history, myth and horror are what you love reading then this is the book for you I absolutely loved this book even though it give me nightmares thanks Donna. It's the eighteenth century and Lord Abner has just arrived in the small English town of Royal Rummy where nothing is quite what it seems . The town is full of odd characters and who is Biddy Trott and why does she have sure a hold on Royal Rummy. To find the answers follow Lord Abner as he unfolds the town's story. Can't wait for the next authors next book.

Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn is a hilariously quirky exploration of free speech, and what happens when it gets taken away. Full of whimsy and guaranteed to make you smile! I enjoyed this book so much, that I tend to re-read it every now and again - just to renew my appreciation for letters and words.

It's a quick and fun read, won't take you much time at all, but be ready for tongue twisting silliness that increases in hilarity as the book goes on. A must-read for any lover of the English language.

I created a video explaining my slow decent into hating this series, book by book, for your viewing pleasure:

This one is better than the last one, but considering I'm comparing this to other books in this series and not saying it's all around 'good' or 'ok' should imply something to you. At least this one was faster paced, but the sentences in this one blinded my English professor so...

It's funny, even though there only one more book, I only see darkness at the end of the tunnel.

I was sure I’d read Dubliners before - possibly during my English Literature A Level, but I couldn’t remember what the stories were about. They really give the reader a feel of what life must have been like at the turn of the last century in Ireland. They’re not all ‘pretty’ stories either. We see alcoholism (or at least heavy drinking that impacts life and family), poverty, suicide, missed opportunities and hard decisions. So, normal life for a lot of people.
I now wonder if I should go back and reread one of his novels?
Many thanks to The Pigeonhole for serialising this book.

For the most part, I really enjoyed this book. However, the dialogue is just weird. They both talk like they weren’t born and raised in America. Ana grew up in Las Vegas (?) and Christian, as far as we know, is from the PNW. And yet, sometimes they both talk like they’re English, and not in a cute way. In a, there’s no way in hell anyone born and raised in the states would say that, kind of way. It just made it feel less genuine.

Additionally, Ana is an idiot but I think we all know that.
