"I have never tired of watching this film over the decades, ever since it premiered on TV in 1955, the same day of its theatrical release. Richard III is the greatest character the world’s greatest writer ever created, and this is his best play, and the greatest heroic performance ever given by the greatest English-speaking actor, Laurence Olivier, perfectly directed by the actor with a superb supporting cast and a fantastic score by Sir William Walton. It’s quite an achievement in every possible way. From his first appearance in the part on the London stage in 1944, it was acknowledged as the greatest Shakespearean performance anyone had ever seen, and it seems destined to remain that, thanks to this great film"

The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)
The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)
1988 | Drama

"Okay, I will pick a film with Bowie in it. [laughs] I’m going to say The Last Temptation of Christ, where he plays Pilate. All the Romans are English, and all the Jews are American. [laughs] I think it’s just a perfect piece of filmmaking. It’s brave and it’s imaginative and it’s about the most kind of profound things, and yet it’s very human. And the music — Peter Gabriel’s soundtrack is incredible. Again, every time I watch it… it’s the same with a lot of Scorsese’s films — as soon as you turn the channel and come across one, no matter how many times you’ve seen it, you sort of can’t stop watching it, because he’s a master story teller. That’s my five for today."

After three (?) months I've finally finished Gotham High and I have some thoughts.

1) Why the tweak to the death of Bruce's parents?

I mean, the Wayne's deaths are iconic why mess with it?

2) Why the role changes?

Uncle Alfred? What happened to the snarky English butler?

3) BARBIE GORDAN???

I think this explains itself and no, it never said this was just her nickname.

4) it feels like they dropped Alfred's husband in for the sake of look representation. I mean, he's only on a few pages and doesn't do much.

In all, this wasn't like what the trailer led me to think. It's not bad just really, really, really different and I'm not sure how to feel about that.

Oddball drama
A rather odd, colourful drama series based on a collection of short erotic stories.
It's very flamboyant, with a mixture of weird and wonderful characters set in Tangier in the 50's. An American heiress travels to meet up with her English husband and encounters a hedonistic culture. Almost film noir like at times as well with plots covering some dark deeds as well.
Then main problem with a short 6 episode series as it feels directionless, probably not helped if it's based on several short stories. It doesn't seem to have a main plot running through it. What seems to be a major plot in one episode might be sidelined in the next. Just a bit strange overall.
