Very loose idea for a plot
Very poor 80's style teen comedy
This definitely tries to capture the vibe of films like Ferris Bueller's day off and Risky Business to name a couple. It fails badly though. Despite quite an ensemble cast most only have a few scenes or cameo roles. It's just not that funny and goes from one odd scene to the next. There are better more recent teen comedies than this around.

It's unashamedly sentimental but this was still certainly much better than I had expected it to be considering the critical slating it got. A powerful and at times emotional study of a man struggling with grief following a bereavement. It was an interesting and quite clever story and the ensemble cast all did great work (particularly Will Smith in the lead role) and I genuinely didn't see the ending coming. It's probably not something I would rewatch but it's certainly worthy of your time.

You go in expecting a fast paced action thriller, but you get something completely different. It's not a cliché. (2 more)
A good ensemble of actors who all bring in solid performances
As many people mention; the soundtrack is absurdly good. Fitting in beautifully with each melodramatic scene
Go in open minded. Suggesting this film to friends, I have always received varied mixed reviews. Not everyone is going to like it (1 more)
The slow pacing, limited conversation, and overabundance of intense eye contact might be a little too "different" for some to enjoy the movie
