"This epic saga sweeping through four generations of life among Kenya’s Kikuyu tribe is a novel of Steinbeckian stature neglected by literary connoisseurs. Huxley leads us into the Kikuyu world so that, when the British arrive, they seem as alien as invading Martians. Her descriptive powers rival Steinbeck’s, but her imagery is drawn from the Kikuyu mind. A felled tree ‘tottered like a drunken elder.'

"Beside Knausgård, Harstad is perhaps the best Norwegian writer right now. It’s about a young boy moving with his family from Norway to the USA, growing up there in the ‘80s and ‘90s, and so it’s an outsider’s look at American society, written with clinical precision and desperate humor. If you like thick, epic books like DeLillos' “Underworld,” this is probably up your alley."

Perfect
We get to see a talking dragon, which is a bonus. We get to see more great actors. See more elves and humans. Oh, and don't get me started on the fighting scenes, especially when elves are involved. That river scene, when a character was jumping on heads, was epic. Re-watched that specific scene at least 30 times. It was just that good.

The finale of the "original" Star Wars epic trilogy did everything that a finale should aspire to do. It closed gaps, it gave finality to many sub story lines, and it even introduced some new characters that it took the time to develop and make the viewer care about.

Please watch this if you haven't. It should probably be required viewing before leaving high school.

Rolling Stone's 395th greatest album of all time (433rd in the 2020 list)
Absolutely phenomenal album, featuring the truly epic All My Friends (or Dancing with Dave as fans of Elis James and John Robins might refer to it). Top notch anthemic dance/indie, at times being reminiscent of Radio 4 and The Rapture. Oh, and apparently they aren't British, they are North American.
