Have you ever read something and then immediately thought to yourself “wtf did I just read?’ That is the best way I can describe Forstbitten. Half of the time I wasn’t sure what was even going on. The writing was so bizarre, vague, and all over the place, I am still trying to find the plot. I thought the erotic scenes could save it, but those were a mess as well. Everything about this book made it sound enticing. However, the execution was so poorly done, I am left wondering what drugs the author was on when she wrote it and would I understand it if I took them too?

Gooey Christmas Romance!
I really needed this style of book to kick my reading slump and man oh man! Did this book satisfy every need!!

I originally picked up Merry Inkmas for a buddy read, where I was only supposed to read four chapters a day. I ended up not being able to put down this steamy romance! I blew through it within a days time. And must I say, this was one heck of a read.

"This was a gift, and I’ve passed it on and on. There seems to be much confusion over feminism and how it relates to sexual freedom and erotica. WHAT?? Check out the liberated women of the ‘60s and ‘70s who were all about their bodies, choice, freedom and sex! This is superb, erotic literature and artwork for both women and men. It is an unabashedly joyful celebration of human sexuality in all its diversity. The artwork is beautiful and the poems and text a gorgeous compilation of sex with all the excitement — but without the mistreatment and objectification of women. A luxurious erotica alternative."

As always Cathryn Fox delivers with her intricate storyline, erotica sex scenes, and endless wit. I haven’t read a Fox story to date that I didn’t like and House Rules just adds to that long list. I didn’t know this was the second in a series when I started it and I felt that I missed out on little nuances because of it. That being said, you can enjoy House Rules without having read book 1, Private Reserve, though I would recommend reading it as well. I know I am.

House Rules is a short erotic read with a hot hero and low key naughty heroine. My only complaint is how short it was!

I have a soft spot for bounty hunters and space. Put those two together and you have a recipe for magic. This novel was exactly up my alley and I loved everything about it. After reading Katherine McIntyre’s Stolen Petals, I was jonesing for another story similar. This was a perfect match. With a fierce female lead and a deliciously devious male lead, the couple burned up the pages. It’s not erotic however, having a plot interesting enough to keep my attention when they weren’t setting the book on fire.

Overall, the novel reads quick, but it is rather enjoyable. If you like strong female bounty hunters and the men who love them, I recommend it.

A deeply weird and genuinely erotic little curio where a pre-𝘛𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 Robert Pattinson plays... er- *checks notes* Salvador Dali (donning all kinds of ridiculous wardrobe choices) who has a lot of gay sex and angrily paints all while spouting nonsensical metaphorical dialogue in a humorously cartoonish Spanish accent. Needed to be a little more controlled, leaner - I zoned out during at least one third of the talking bits, but it looks pretty! Not too shabby, I'll happily take this artsy oddball over most of the recycled biopic dumps up for awards contention today. Pattinson's full commitment to throwing himself at the wall for roles was evident even this early in his career.

"Bad Behavior is largely about sex, but it’s not cheesy or cheap. In this book of short stories, Gaitskill writes about women in the sex industry, people in power play relationships, S&M, and the general psychology of people who engage in so-called “bad behaviors” in a way that’s honest, sometimes brutal, and always beautiful. (For example, the darkly erotic film Secretary was adapted from a story in the book.) I first read this book around the time that I started Slutever, my blog about sexuality that still exists today, and it gave me confidence that writing about sex was a legitimate pursuit, and could be seen as intelligent, meaningful, and maybe even poetic."

I had no idea what I was expecting when I was picked up this book. I was fascinated by it from the very beginning. The description states that the plotline consists of Joy, an art curator who becomes sexually infatuated with erotic photographer Ash Hunter. From the beginning, the two have such sexual frustration between each other, that you can chew it. It’s so convenient that Joy needs Ash’s work for her gallery, which constantly throws the two together. The novel also follows Joy’s best friend Erica, who is a culinary student, and her evolving relationship with a fellow student named Blaine.

I loved everything to do with this novel. It was the first erotic novel that I ever felt connected to. There were so many parallels between it in my own life that I found myself more emtionally involved with it than I should have been. First, Joy is an art curator while I am an art student trying to earn a degree to be an art curator. Erica, Joy’s best friend, is an culinary student, and my best friend is months from graduating from culinary school. One of the main themes of the novel is Joy’s lack of confidence in her appearance. Joy is one of those woman who can’t stand her extra pounds. She sees herself as unattractive just because she is not as skinny as her grandmother tells her she should be. In fact, I wanted to strangle Joy’s obnoxious grandmother who downed Joy in every way possible.

Even if I hadn’t connected with this book, I still would have loved it. The erotic scenes were hot and tastefully done. I could have done without the dirty dialogue, however. Dirty talk and foul language always sound awkward when read. It may be attractive in the bedroom, but not in my literature. Other than that, they were phenomenal. Especially the ones between Erica and Blaine. Besides that, I felt the characters had real depth to them and were actually interesting.
The only disappointment I had with this book was the lack of Erica and Blaine. I wish there had been more scenes with them or that they had their own story. It would have definitely been worth it.
