This novella was such a disappointment. Historically, I have enjoyed Lauren Dane and she really knows how to write erotic scenes. Unfortunately, that's the only reason this story received as high of a rating as it did. The characters were shallow and the story was underdeveloped. I felt the author wrote just enough development to get to the sex scenes, and the lack of interest shows. Not too mention the novel has multiple writing tropes that I loathe: the pushy "best friend," the one true mate plot device, and the sex being so good the female doesn't care anymore.

I was sorely disappointed. If you wanted to write raunchy sex scenes, then write them. Don't hide behind poor plot devices to excuse it. Say it with me: consenting adults are allowed to have sex!

I did not expect to like this novella as much as I did. After reading the synopsis, I really wanted to read it, especially since I have a thing for romance/erotica featuring chefs. Meat did not disappoint. Overall, it has likable characters, steamy scenes, and an alpha male who isn’t a sexist bore! The only downside, is that the story is highly predictable. I am not sure if the twists were supposed to be twist because I picked up on them right off the bat (and I am a bit slow at these things.) Not that it detracted from enjoying the story. What I appreciated most, however, was how realistic the erotic scenes are. I won’t give anything anyway, just that you should read it.

If you are looking for a hot, sensual and thrilling (on more than one level) quick read, then I suggest you try out Felicity Heaton's first book in the Vampire Erotic Theatre series. This book lets you dip your toe in the vampire's world. It gives you a run down on the difference between the two sets of vampires and gives you a quick insight into what their world is like. There are characters in here that make the story very intriguing - and not just Javier and Lilah!

I love the groundwork that the author has put down, these details are what makes a book special and very, very readable.

If you want something bland and boring, then pass by this Novella. This is hot and spicy - loved it!

"A film that is the cinematic antipode of The Battle of Algiers. Photographed by the great Jack Cardiff, designed by Alfred Junge (both of whom received Oscars for their work here), this film was considered by Michael Powell to be the “most erotic” of all his films. That it takes place within a community of nuns gives his claim a deliciously profane edginess. It is the film that made me first realize how much cinematography can and should contribute to the emotional, dramatic thrust of a movie. It was also a great influence on my own film, the never released Mariette in Ecstasy, a bittersweet experience that made me realize how much more freedom I would always have as a cinematographer than as just another struggling director trapped in the Hollywood system."

3.5 stars.

I'm not a big fan of menage books, there's generally too much going on for me and in this there were a lot of erotic scenes involving more than just out two main characters and it didn't do anything for me.

I don't mind a bit of kink but some bits of this book were a little too much for my tastes.

That being said, if those scenes were removed and it was just Sam and Mitch I would have given it a higher rating as what they shared from early on was something special.I loved the beginning and the end but the in between went a little awry for me.

Nevertheless I liked it.

In this short erotic paranormal story, we meet Russell; he's a self-published author with enough money to pay for a clever marketing campaign and to donate to his favourite causes. He lives in a mansion with his childhood friend and makes use of the stories told about him to get what he wants!

This is not a romance story, but it is compelling reading! There is murder, an obsessed crazy woman, journalists, and of course, a vampire. All of this is packed into a steamy bundle of fun.

Well-written, fast-paced, and steamy! Definitely recommended.

"Call it Extreme Southern Gothic, New Orleans division. The protagonists of this dark French Quarter novel are knee-deep in murder, torture, sex and cannibalism. The story is unabashedly grim (or as Brite himself puts it, “twisted, horrific”), but Brite’s prose is crystal clear, and his literate tone is sufficiently wry and ironic that it creates a sort of safety zone in which readers not normally drawn to this sort of stuff (myself included) can take refuge while they read. But even arm’s-length readers are apt to find themselves being drawn further and further into the story—seduced in spite of the themselves. Material that would be merely sick, disgusting, and unreadable in the hands of a lesser writer is, with Brite at the controls, surprisingly erotic and captivating. It’s a tour de force, in a literary category all by itself."

Lol, remember when I read books like this? I read this back in 2014.

-------------------

Please erase this from my memory! I found this to be slow, drab and boring. Where was the excitement, the thrill, the sex?! I was led to believe, by the book description, that this was an erotic book about a love affair between teacher and student, however when I got round to reading it, it was more like a very close awkward friendship between teacher and student.

Eden is a superficial, over dramatic, self obsessed character with no real teenage girl qualities about her and Mr Christian is just a weak man who falls in love with the most beautiful girl in school, what a shocker.

Conversations are short and unrealistic and lots of scenes are overly long and not needed to progress the plot at all. I regret spending my money on this.

First off I loved the actress and actor playing the roles both are incredibly and sexy to boot the sex scenes were better in my opinion the story line was a bit more on track with the book but so much was cut out I would love to see the movie made as in the book but take it a bit darker and more erotic only thing I had issue with was christian in the book based to the movie was a way darker person but it's a good movie I'd suggest it to all your friends it's a good date night movie to get you in the mood ?

DESIRE'S DESTINY is the first book in The Vespian Way series, and we are introduced to a world very different from Earth. They have their own customs and traditions, just like Earth does. Heather is assigned to the Ambassador as his bodyguard, but that assignment quickly makes her something else.

This is a very fast-paced story, with plenty of steamy scenes. At times I actually felt as though this detracted a little from the main story, but I could see where the author was going with it.

There are still questions left unanswered but this is only book one, so I'm hoping for answers to at least some of my questions in book two.

An intricate and twisted Sci-Fi Erotic Romance with plenty of stories and characters yet to learn about. If you're looking for something to get you hot under the collar, then I can definitely recommend this.
