As bad as the original trilogy
I actually feel embarrassed that I’ve read this book. I read the original trilogy (skim reading by the time I got to the third one) and was vaguely interested in seeing if it being told from Christian’s perspective made for a better read. Short answer is no.

This has obviously been written for the money and I don’t doubt that it’s done very well. However Christian’s perspective is not a good one. In the original books he’s very aloof, cold and confident but in this he just comes across as a petulant clingy teenager. I’m sure it was intended to show his softer side, but it’s just made him out as weak and ridiculously irritating. His internal monologue too is atrocious, his constant use of “baby” made me want to cringe and it makes him sound so childish.

And the “erotic” parts.... they’re just repetitive, laughable and about as erotic as dirty dish water. This book (and the rest of the trilogy) are just a nonsense fairytale for people who don’t know any better. Avoid at all costs!

Totally agree I read it for the same reason and it was basically just a recap of everything that has happened. No change in perspectives as all!

A pretty successful debut ... original, darkly erotic and thrilling and one which will make you look a bit harder the next time you are on a train .... or not!

This book is not one I would normally go for as I tend to keep away from overly sexual books but there was something about the synopsis that attracted me to read this ... maybe it's my dark side coming out!

The main character, Polly, is a complex and deeply flawed individual formed by a troubled upbringing and addictive personality. Not happy with her seemingly perfect life, Polly goes awry following an erotic encounter on the tube and she becomes addicted to finding that stranger again and in the process, becomes embroiled in the what can only be described as "seedy" practice of #tubing.

Written at a fast pace in an easy-to-read style with great characters, this book will immerse you in a hidden world that might just exist in the cramped and overcrowded tube system.

Thank you to the publisher, RedDoor Publishing, and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest and unbiased review.

I look forward to Ms McKeagney's next outing.

This is the second novel in the "The Lawyer To The Doms" series. It was a short erotica book, and I couldn't get enough. I wish I got to know more about the characters and I was hoping the story would of been longer and with more depth. I'd read work by this author again, too. This book is definitely NOT fluffy, so I recommend it for the people who want to read a short naughty erotic book and are not afraid of rough language and BDSM scenes.

What a bizarre read. I expected this to be a quick steamy read and I wasn’t far off. There is enough development to get a feel for the characters and story, but they are shallow at best. This is sexual escapism at it finest. Their need to have sex to understand each other should have tipped you off. If you are looking for a quick erotic read with an outlandish story, you would probably enjoy this but don’t expect to be blown away by characters, plot, or chemistry.

As far as erotica novels go, this novel is one of the worst that I have ever read. Not only was it vague in any erotic descriptions the author decided to give use, but the actually erotica content was almost absent. It was like reading a fairy tale written for adults with all the gore and vulgarity instead the sunshine and smiles, although the happy endings were present.

When I want erotica, I want erotica. If I wanted some fairy tales told for adults instead children, I would read the Grimm's Fairy Tales.

Another attempt by E.L. James to solve the global overpopulation crisis by putting people off the idea of having sex. More deeply uninvolving shenanigans between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey: will he win her back? Will she be able to make him commit to a proper relationship? And why the hell should anyone else care?

Very little discernible plot; mostly resembles a blandly aspirational soap opera, or possibly commercial for kitchen design. Scenes of rumpo are occasionally unintentionally funny, never actually erotic. Fifty Shades Darker? Fifty Shades Duller, more like.
