I really enjoyed reading The Testaments. Margaret Atwood wrote it in the same style as The Handmaid's Tale, as it was the long-awaited sequel, however, it really had a unique voice. While it followed the general idea of what happened during The Handmaid's Tale, it was a story of other women voicing their stories 15 years later. If you are on the fence about whether or not to spend the time reading The Testaments, yes, take the time. It's a 415 page book, but it's a very smooth read that definitely makes it seem shorter. I loved finally being able to read Margaret Atwood's expansion on this story.

A new mother's journey in the aftermath of a natural journey, the novel has some very stark and touching moments. Written in fragments, possibly to reflect the turmoil but also possibly as a result of her 'former' self being a note-taker, it's an unusual presentation of such an overwhelming concept. It does, however, also make it a generally matter-of-fact narrative, with very little expansion on details or emotional reaction from the protagonist. At time this works well, as it seems a fair consequence to the reality being presented, but at time's I'd like to hear what our heroine is thinking or feeling, rather than coming across as an observational bystander. An interesting read, nonetheless.

Easy to pick up
I was introduced to this game by my uncle a couple of years ago. When he first tried explaining the gameplay to me I was extremely confused... But I persisted and played a game. It only took me one game to pick up the rules completely and I was loving it. The game is very fun and you find yourself wanting to sabotage your family members so you can be crowned champion!! I hear the expansion pack also brings added comedic value in the form of a Cone of Shame. Would highly recommend as an icebreaker game or to kick start an evening of board games shenanigans.
