How would you react if you went from being a normal high school kid with a plan for your future to seeing ghosts, finding out the paranormal is real, and everything you thought you knew about your family was wrong? These are the challenges Lainey faces in this book.

Lainey is almost 17. She is a straight A student, with a plan for her life. Then she starts seeing a ghost, which sets events into motion. With her best friend, and a cute guy she just met to help her figure out what's going on. Then the help of her Uncle and his girlfriend Lainey tackles struggles bigger than any high schooler should have to handle.

This book was amazing. It had me on the edge of my seat, grinning from ear to ear and crying at times. I would highly recommend it. With a few minor kissing scenes and a couple of violent scenes I would say it is still appropriate for kids over the age of 13.

383. A Dark Place. A small town murder mystery and it was pretty awesome. We meet Donald a sanitation worker, a quiet guy, when it comes to work he follows the rules to a T. He's not the smartest of human beings but when his interest in the case of a local missing boy, he becomes Sherlock Holmes, ok maybe not that good but... Donald only the knows the family of the missing boy, because they wave to him when he stops by to pick up their trash, and apparently that is enough for Donald to conduct his own investigation and frankly, does it better than the local police. Donald definitely digs in deep and unearths some troubling truths about the small town. The main character Donald played by Andrew Scott reminded me of Mark Ruffalo playing Forrest Gump. I think you'll see it too. It is a short movie, but does manage to tell a good tale and also include a decent sub plot. For the lover of the small town mystery movie, this is worth the time! Following on directly from 'Fast and Furious (4)' and still before 'Tokyo Drift', Dom, Brian and Mia are on the run after breaking Dom out of prison. When they cross the path of a Brazilian drug baron and with an FBI agent on there trail they need to get the family back together for (another) one last job.
Fast and Furious 5 (Fast 5) has taken the franchise from 'cops and robbers' and high school racing to a Heist movie and is bigger with more guns, more cars and more action.
With Brian now on Dom's team the franchise needs a new cop and, in Fast 5 this roll is given to Hobbs, played by Dwayne(the Rock) Johnson. Hobbs is more of an action guy than Brian was which leads to longer fight scenes and more shoot outs.
The end chase is one of the better one's I've seen with a huge amount of collateral damage.
Fast 5 shows that the franchise is getting bigger and better and it will be interesting to see where where it goes next.

At times intense, dark and painful.

My heart goes out to Hadi, our main character. He's a good guy with a special gift that could (and does!) cause him a lot of problems. He's already been through an awful experience and as the story unfolds things brighten up for him only to take a turn for the worse. He tries to help others and is generally really nice.
James 'Falcon' is pretty decent too. He's a doer, cares deeply for his people (family/friends/Gen - his dog) and doesn't let things hold him back. A proper top bloke.
Of the other characters......I'd say that 'Duck' (gotta love code names) is an ass-hat, definitely a bloke that deserves a good crack in the chin, minimum!!

Hellfire isn't for the faint hearted or sensitive folk....It's for an adult audience, with themes of death, drug use and pain. My heart started cracking throughout and the ending made sure I couldn't put it back together.

I'm so happy it's the start of a series!!

3.5 stars, again.

This series started out as a guilty pleasure, I shouldn't have liked it for what it was about but I couldn't help it. I was completely dragged in and as the plotline has progressed so have the characters.

Julz used to be ruthless but was broken in the last book and has become more emotional(It's unusual after getting used to her in the previous books).

Jase...well I've always loved Jase. He's always come across as a nice guy and different to the rest of his family.

In this, they came together at last and I really liked them together, the times when they were happy. BUT not everything goes as planned and in the way the author has, she's left it on a bit of a cliff-hanger.
