While this is not my usually fantasy book to pick up, I found myself being drawn into the nightmare unable to look away. The characters, while not very likeable, are interesting, and you do care where their story will end. It's been compared to Goremenghast, which I haven't read so can't compare, but it is well written. It's gothic steampunk, grim, dark fantasy, melancholic tragedy with horror sprinkled on top. I loved it and felt sad I'd finished it, but couldn't wait to get the next in the series.

This three box set series is exciting, thrilling, and one epic fantasy.
The series follows Dana a reluctant princess and Will a man who can see more in Dana than just the facade on the outside. Together they must save the empire and maybe each other along the way.

This is an epic fantasy that brings you in and makes you want to read all three books in a row. It is wonderful to have a box set that let's you do that. If you enjoy epic romance and an adventure to save a kingdom you will enjoy this.

The first - and, for my money, best - of Peter Jackson's now 6-film foray into Middle Earth, that (I'm sure) saw a massive boost to the New Zealand economy where it was filmed!

It's hard to talk about this film nowadays without describing the plot - is there anyone who doesn't know it? - but this is the film that (I believe) sticks closest to the original story, and is very much what I would call 'traditional' High Fantasy (as opposed to 'Urban Fantasy'), with do-good Elves, Dwarves, Rangers, Orcs, Goblins, Cave-Trolls, Hobbits (halflings) ,,,,

And finally,

"Fly, you fools!"

still packs a punch!

It's back, I'm so glad I carried on with the series after the Queen of Shadows. The story in this one is excellent and I love how everything ties together. So much fantasy!

I still HATE Rowan, he's so sappy and I hate the romance scenes with him involved. I don't know why but this character writing is wrong for his history and experience.

Plus I think the blood oath is just a farce at this point, used for a plot hole and show how powerful Caleana is but we know that from other things
