I'd give this a 3.5 if I could. Of the two stories, I was far more interested in what was found in the margins than the mysterious guy with amnesia and his ship. The props were kind of a pain and didn't always add to the experience.

Volume 8 of Yona of the Dawn was not my favorite in the series so far. The part where Su-won visits Chishin Palace was long and seemed to be very random. It wasn't, but it doesn't flow into the rest of the story very smoothly.

Well, even though it wasn't great, it was by far better than the original with the creepy little boy. I didn't like how the plot was changed though, the original had that going a little better. It doesn't live up to the book by any means.

"If you think 700 pages on the many ways in which exceptional kids (trans, Downs, autistic, Deaf, criminal, genius) can stretch their families’ conception of love doesn’t sound like summertime reading, Far From the Tree: Parents, Children and the Search for Identity will teach you otherwise."

"He's an underground, cult writer but he is by far my favourite author – every line is beautifully crafted. He was an ex-boxer, tough guy, and he used to sit on a bunch of bricks looking at the wall writing… he was a self-taught writer."

"This is definitely the most interesting take on the vampire genre I’ve ever seen. It’s such a beautiful film and has so many amazing images in it. Definitely my favorite thing Guillermo del Toro has done so far. Nice and disturbing, just the way I like it."
