Watched Thursday in my opinion second to raganarok as one of the best thor sequels so far still better than the second one anyway the film it was amazing the visuals the action scenes of course Chris helmsworth still got it but for me Natalie portman steals it from Chris as the female version of thor nice they stuck to her origin from the comic books how she became thor nice to have the guardians of the galaxy back shame it wasn't longer

Odd Thriller
A reasonable but slightly odd quirky Thriller. From the Trailer you guess there is going to be some weird quirky reveal into what is going on. The sets and feel of the film look good and with a good Cast. Just took a bit long to get to the reason of what was going on and why. One for those who enjoy films that are very different to the norm if far from a classic.

Elementary - Season 4
Elementary - Season 4
2015 | Drama
Season 4 of CBS's 'modern-day' take on Sherlock (and a gerder-flipped Watson), again set in the US of A instead on in London.

Each season so far has had it's main 'focus' (for want of a better word): Sherlock himself, Moriarty, Mycroft Holmes, Kitty.

This time, it's Sherlocks father - Morland Holmes - who is the main focus of the series as a whole.

Well, perhaps focus is too strong a word: what I should, instead, be saying, is that more than a few of the episodes involve him and his various shady dealings!

While there is now something like 23, maybe 24, Sharpe novels by Bernard Cornwell when this was released there was only roughly half that.

This is the only novel (so far) to be set mainly in England, with Richard Sharpe and Patrick Harper travelling back to London to find the missing recruits from their second battalion - a storyline to which this adaptation sticks remarkably closely.

It's not perfect, of course, with subplots left out or condensed somewhat (and the lack of budget shows), but it is still a good enough watch!

Intriguing comparison between opposing men
Thomas E. Rick's fascinating account of the lives two of the most renowned British men seems an unlikely match, but nevertheless a good comparison. Literary leftist giant George Orwell and Conservative heavyweight Winston Churchill appear to be as far apart from one another, however, their visions of freedom actually divulge.

Ricks points out, both men's "dominant priority, a commitment to human freedom, gave them common cause", despite Orwell being an introvert and Churchill being a prominent orator - and it seems to be the common thread that ties them throughout.

The author's focus on Orwell felt far more interesting than Churchill's background, given that Orwell served in various armed forces around the world by choice, and usually fighting with the underdog. He was also poverty-stricken for a period of time, in which he wrote the classic memoir Down and Out in Paris and London. But Churchill's ability to change minds across the political sphere is legendary.

While certainly not exhaustive, this book provides an overview of the lives of both influential men, delving into each's careers as the themes of war, politics, and personal liberties are explored. It may be seen as a bit of a stretch given the two never actually met, however, it is still informative and entertaining.

A Crazy Caper Set in a Galaxy Far, Far Away
Rogue One is a fantastic film. It feels so fresh, despite being "a Star Wars Story," mostly because it is so different than any of the movies in the main saga. Better yet, it functions as an awesome prequel to the original trilogy. Even if you're of mind to forget Star Wars 1-3, I'm betting you'll be more than willing to add this movie to the start of your Original Trilogy marathons. Rogue One is a delightful mash of a couple genres, most notably spy, heist, and war films, and it works so well. It's a ground level look at the Rebellion and their efforts to steal plans to the Death Star, shown through the point-of-view of regular soldiers with no apparent Force powers to speak of. It's a thrilling ride, and one that also gets you invested in its well-written characters in a fairly short amount of time. Oh, and Disney, is there any way Alan Tudyk can come back to the series?

Not a traditional horror
Tense and interesting, but ultimately disappointing
I knew little about this film other than it was billed as an 'end of the world' type horror, although as with most films I was fairly sceptical.

First off, this isn't a traditional horror so if you go in expecting a slasher flick, you'll be severely disappointed. However it is very tense, and I found myself feeling very uneasy throughout the entire film (but in a good way). The acting itself was great too and I think as a story, the main idea of the plot was good, I just don't think they quite pulled it off in reality.

I'm of the opinion that sometimes in films etc that less is more, that drawing your own conclusions is sometimes better than being spoon fed an entire story. My issue with this film is that it goes a little too far and it barely answers any questions. It doesn't explain anything and by the end it just leaves you with a "WTF just happened?". If they had just answered at least some of the questions raised, this review would've been so much better.

I first read any of [author:Simon Haynes|541847]' books during the summer of 2018, when I saw [book:Hal Spacejock 1: A robot named Clunk|12381591] on offer via (I believe) a popular social-media platform.

While I thought that tat particular story was all right, it wasn't enough to make me want to go buy any more of his works. Later that same year, I then saw another Kindle deal on the first three of his Hal Spacejock books and, as I was looking for something to read, thought I would pick those up. Of those three, I felt it was easy to see that they were getting better (with the second - [book:Hal Spacejock 2: Second Course|1096672] - being the best).

Fast forward to early 2019, and I was again looking for something new to read. And, again, I saw an offer on one of his other books: this time, on the first of the newer Harriet Walsh 'Peace Force' series. Which, I have to say, I found to be better than any of the Hal Spacejock books I've read so far - it is true what the say, after all, that practice makes perfect! Well, I wouldn't go so far as perfect, but - I felt - there is a definite upswing in quality here.

Epic adventure!
Assassin's Creed is one of my favorite series of video games. I loved them all & this one may be the best of all. Ancient Greece is the setting & you play as one of two characters, either male or female. You play as a mercenary, which allows for many types of missions. The story is very involved and takes you all over an enormous world. The world is beautiful & it's worth exploring every inch.

My favorite new features of the game are the way you can hunt other mercenaries in the game & move up the chain. Sort of like the Lord of the Rings games where you can hunt specific orcs & goblins. The other is hunting cult members. You do missions to find out the identities of the cult members, then hunt them down. All very exciting.

So far they have kept the Azimuth stuff to a minimum, which is fine.

This game is huge. I have played for over 20 hours so far & nowhere near completing it. Not even half I would guess.

I also love the photo feature in the game & find myself using it a lot. The game is that beautiful.

If you like the others, then this is a must buy.
