10-year-old autonomous cars?

I put up with the endless runway (was it a Möbius strip?) in Fast 6. That alone should prove I have a very high tolerance for movies that really put the concept of "suspension of disbelief" to the test. The Fate of the Furious, however, had more than a few moments that left me unable to suspend my disbelief. A movie about cars should not have a whole scene showing 10-year-old cars being controlled autonomously (I specifically remember seeing 2005-ish Volkswagen Jetta in a World War Z zombie swarm of driverless cars). Even most cars being produced in 2017 would not have this capability. Also, why would Jeep/Chrysler want their cars prominently featured in a scene involving a hacker taking control of cars in order to create mass destruction and chaos? Just a thought, and I digress. There are more unbelievable moments in the movie, nothing out of the ordinary for a Fast and Furious movie though (winning a race in reverse, anyone?). It's great dumb fun, as always, and if you don't care about all the physics and reality breaking nonsense it's a wild ride. For me though, it feels as if the Fast and the Furious franchise has finally jumped the shark, or should I say submarine? I will say this though, this one scene near the end of the movie involving Jason Statham and a baby was worth the price of admission alone.

Book Divas (227 KP) rated House of Wax in Books
Dec 12, 2017 (Updated Dec 12, 2017)
Every book I have read that has been written by this author has received a five star rating from me and this one is no different. This was a fast paced and exciting story line that kept me captured in the author's web from beginning to end. The characters popped to life right in front of me and I so wish this was a longer read as I would love to know more about Maelstrom who is truly an evil vampire and my curiosity is piqued.

Raw aggression (2 more)
Clear vocals
Deep bass
Iconic album
Featuring the huge hit Insane in the brain. My favourite track is actually Lick a shot. The mix of fast beats, deep bass and aggressive vocals with lyrics you can clearly make out make this one of the best rap albums around. The similar themes of the tracks also mean they blend together perfectly from one track to the next. If you like Rap with deep bass you have to get this album. It's a classic.

While nothing new, it is well executed
The structure of this jam-packed, fast paced novel is well-laid out, moving from the protagonist's voice to a mysterious person continuously. While the enigmatic chapters were less than mysterious, as I figured out who it was near the beginning, it is clear and not too overdone. It is sad as there are many mothers treated this way especially through the systems, not believed and thought of as unfit. Hence it seems realistic with a sense of tension throughout

In [No Easy Way Out] Lorentz continues the saga of the people stuck in the mall after a plague is unleashed. Alliances are formed but someone is not being truthful. Oh yeah, the bodies are piling up.This is a fast paced continuation of the previous book [No Safety in Numbers]. The story takes some minor twists and turns and you find out more about the characters. The interesting thing is how the characters see each other is not what the reader see's. Love being omniscient!

A novella that seems to fall somewhere between coming-of-age fantasy and horror. I won't lie, I'm not even sure that I understood what this book is about, but it's so well written that I don't care that I don't understand what it means. Coming to the climax of the story, I simply could not read fast enough; Malerman creates such a sense of immediacy that it would have been impossible to put the book down by the second half.

What a fantastic book! It is well written with a great plot and characters. This book is full of action, adventure, magic and romance. It is fast paced and I couldn't put it down. Gia is a great main character she is strong, smart and witty but she is also practical. Drake is very creative I love the whole book jumping concept. Drake's world building is slowly and beautifully done. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Netgalley.
