The Lord of the Rings was my favorite book series growing up. I compare all of the books that I read to Lord of the Rings. J.R.R. Tolkien spent so much time and effort on these books, that is it is easy to see just how incredible they are. Fellowship of the Ring is a fantastic story that lets you dive in headfirst into the world of Middle Earth. Characters like Gandalf, Frodo, Tom Bombadil, and Samwise allow us to invest ourselves in this world and become immersed in the story.

Giant robots fighting giant monsters!
A few slow moments (0 more)
One of my absolute favorite Sci-fi movies!
Everything you want in both a summer blockbuster and a Del Toro movie. Love the idea of escalation. Humanity felt so defenseless, the only way fight giant monsters was to create giant robots. The military approach is done well. Just enough human emotion to ground the story, but IMO not enough to get in the way of what you really want to see.

I couldn't get by without IMDb! I've had the app for as long as I've had a smartphone, and open it almost daily. What lesser-known projects have my favorite stars been involved in? Who's that up-and-comer who put in such a moving performance in my last watch? Which movies by the directors I follow are essential to be able to understand their repertoire? If you're even a very casual film buff, this is sure to be indispensable to you as you navigate movie culture!

The prose of WE SHED OUR SKIN LIKE DYNAMITE is beautiful, thoughtful, and a complicated mess of life.
I fully expected the usual confessional poetry and was pleasantly surprised by the depth of many poems, which touch on subjects such as abortion, sex, and substance abuse. I found the word play interesting and alluring, while occasionally surpassing boundaries I wasn't aware existed. Though it's not my *favorite* collection, it's certainly a cerebral and fluid one, offering up a depth of experience difficult to find in these shallow modern poetic waters.
