Night Reader Reviews (683 KP) rated The Mist in Books

I will admit that I saw this movie years ago and only within the past year got around to reading the book. Without giving any spoilers I can safely say the I prefer the ending to Stephen King's book so much more than what the movie offered. As always his books are just the right combination of creepy and realistic to prevent his work from being unbelievable. My all time favorite author.

Good read
This is the 4th book in the blackthorpe security series. I have read the first 3 books and was really looking forward to reading this one. It didn't go into as much detail as the others in the series and the characters didn't have as much depth. But I did like the twist that the author did in this one. Overall this was not my favorite book in this series.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Bride of a Bygone War (Beirut Trilogy, #2) in Books

[Preston Fleming] has quickly become one of my favorite authors. With [Bride of a Bygone War] he hits another home run. The continuing action and intrigue of Beirut in the 1980's is conveyed in a fast paced yet humanistic manner.
Any fan of spy thrillers or the action adventure genre definitely needs to check [Mr. Fleming] out. I will be awaiting the third installment of the [Beirut Trilogy] and any more works by this exciting author.

To Shulk or Not to Shulk?
While not my favorite She-Hulk story, this comic volume was still fantastic! To me, one of the greatest things about She-Hulk is her balance of Jennifer and her Hulk form. This comic is full of both sides of her and how each of them deals with the challenges that are thrown at them. The author spent as much time on either side of her and that seriously made me happy.

This is one of those rare books that I actually stayed up until 2am to read in one go. I think my favorite part about it was the unusual writing style employed by the author. The focus frequently switches between Hannah's voice on the tapes and Clay's reaction to her words in a coherent fashion that unlike some books is not confusing at all. If they ever made this into a movie I'd definitely watch it.

Punishment and Toture
Misery- is one of my favorite Stephen King Novel's turned into a movie. James Caan and Kathy Bates are perfect in this movie. Its twisted, horrorfying, suspenseful, mysterious and more.
After a serious car crash, novelist Paul Sheldon (James Caan) is rescued by former nurse Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates), who claims to be his biggest fan. Annie brings him to her remote cabin to recover, where her obsession takes a dark turn when she discovers Sheldon is killing off her favorite character from his novels. As Sheldon devises plans for escape, Annie grows increasingly controlling, even violent, as she forces the author to shape his writing to suit her twisted fantasies.
I would highly reccordmend watching this movie. It is a excellent movie.

Stephen King
Kathy Bates best movie ever in my opinion
The story of a nurse who happens to rescue her favorite author from the scene of a car crash and brings him to her little home to try and help him recuperate. However once she finds out that her authors story has an ending she doesn't like let the sick and twisted mind of King take over.
If you have read the book then the movie is as graphic as that.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2200 KP) rated Some Like It Hot-Buttered (Double Feature Mystery #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A new series from a favorite author left me a little cold. I didn't find it nearly as funny as his old books, and the mystery was weak. What's funny about this is the series centers around the owner of a comedy movie theater. Owner Elliot Freed investigates when a man is poisoned by his pop corn during the nightly double feature.

Brilliant writer
One of my new favorite authors!!!
I cannot say enough good things about this author. I stumbled upon this book, totally out of the norm of what I had read in the past. I honestly couldn't put this book down. I had to know what was next. Easy read because it was so wonderfully written and will suck you in front the get to! Highly suggest bthis book and any other by A.J. Banner!
