Cute contemporaries might be my downfall this year - there are so many amazing ones, and I am on a contemporary spree of sorts. (I hopped back to fantasy, but I'll be back for more cute ones, contemporary!)
Sandhya Menon’s debut novel has got to be one of my favorite contemporaries - and that says a lot since I'm not exactly a contemporary person. If anything, I avoid the genre like the plague.
Sit back, grab some Pocky Sticks, and allow me to gently shove this wonderful book in your face.
<b>Four Reasons to Pick Up When Dimple Met Rishi</b>
Rishi and Dimple are the cutest beans together - After the early hiccup between the two of them, I loved seeing their interactions together. I'm pretty sure my heart eyes emoji went a little out of control. Also can I please adopt them?
Women in STEM - I'll admit it: we need more females in the STEM fields - in both reality and in the literature we read. Dimple has a passion for coding, and the book is set around Dimple’s aspirations to win Insomnia Con (where coders spend several weeks creating an app of their own) in addition to her developing romance with Rishi.
Dimple doesn't care for romance - Dimple cares more about other things (like coding), and I really loved Menon included this because I can definitely relate. I prefer no makeup, and I suppose if I were in Dimple’s place, my mother would say no boy would want to talk to me because I look like I'm going to bite a boy. (Good.)
Iced coffee being thrown - I don't care what some peeps think about Dimple throwing iced coffee at Rishi, but I think it was A+, and it is one of my favorite scenes in the book. I was looking forward for this scene to happen, and if this book becomes a movie, this scene has GOT to be in there.
If you’re looking for a cute romance, definitely give When Dimple Met Rishi a try! If not for the cute romance, at least for the iced coffee being thrown?

I'm new to Ms. Johnson's work, but I won't be for long! I truly enjoyed this beautifully written novel. It's the 3rd book in her Keys Of Promise series, but it was still highly enjoyable, despite not reading the first two books.
In this novel, Ms. Johnson weaves the perfect combination of faith, hope, and love, along with beautifully depicted historical elements. I was instantly captivated from page one and this book took me on a whirl wind ride until the end. Catherine and Tom both stole my heart for the long run, and I loved following their story!
Ms. Johnson created a story well worth 4 stars, for sure! This is a quick, beautiful read and I am already anxious for more! I can't wait to go back and read the first two books in this wonderful series, and I look forward to adding Ms. Johnson among my favorite authors list! The book comes to life
The story of 4 siblings who are sent to live outside if england during WWII. The go and live on a estate with many different rooms for playing games like hide and seek. During a game young Lucy hides in an old wardrobe and ends up in a magical land ruled by an evil ice queen. She tries and convince her other siblings Edmund,Peter and Susan that this winderful and magical land exisits but, they don't buy it. During one game Edmund the youngest brother hides with her and experiences first hand of this wonderland of sorts but, there is a prophey that 2 kings and 2 queens will come free Narnia. Evuntually they all get to experience Narnia and learn of the prohecy and go to meet the king Aslan to understand it all. Will they free Narnia and get home or will they be traped forever

I really enjoyed reading this book! I was expecting some backstory to my favorite Avenger, Black Widow, and it did not disappoint. The story moved along very quickly and was easy to follow along with. It did switch between three narrators, so make sure to look up by the chapter number to see who is going to be speaking in that chapter. Even if you don't, it's not too hard to differentiate because the characters have such different speaking voices!
There were a few issues with the copy editing that I noticed while reading which kind of threw me out of the story, but I can look over those for the most part.
If you are a huge fan of the Marvel universe like I am, you should definitely pick this up and give it a read.
I am so excited that Margaret Stohl got to pen this book because she is an amazing author! I can't wait to pick up the next one when it comes out!

Mimi Rousseau is preparing for a celebrity wedding at her bistro and inn, but before things can really get underway, her mentor and financial supporter is found dead on the premises. With him gone, Mimi is under no obligation to repay the funds he had lent her to get her business started, so that makes her look mighty suspicious in the eyes of the law. Afraid that shell lose both her business and her freedom, Mimi decides to get to the bottom of things.
Daryl Wood Gerber (aka Avery Aames) is one of my favorite cozy authors, so I jumped at the chance to read the first book in her new mystery series. I was not disappointed. Good food, great friends, and plenty of intrigue keep this story moving along. Its a well-plotted mystery with lots of delicious sounding recipes included at the end. Culinary cozy fans will not want to miss this one.

Where to start... oh where do I start?
I found myself entranced with this novel but I still struggled to finish it. If I didn't have to read it for a book club I might have put it down.
The writing style was not my favorite. I found myself frustrated with the constant use of "He, She, They, It, or the character's name" starting every single sentence.
The book was hard to understand. The constant changing of time was unique to me, and challenging at the same time. It would have been nice to have an outline of what happened and when.
I will say that the reason I gave this novel a 4 star review instead of a 3 star review is that I loved the plot line and the idea behind the novel. I loved the characters (though I would have liked to have had more depth to them) and I loved the plot line.
I did struggle with the writing but ultimately, I found the novel enjoyable.

So I went into this book with no idea of who the author is or where they started. For background, I have been on a major poetry kick this year. I have been devouring books of poetry faster than I can find new authors. This book had some amazing moments for me, and some eh moments. It was a super quick and light read. I spent less than an hour to go through the entire thing. I loved the pictures as I thought they were beautiful, but I didn't love that there were so many of them in between poems as I felt like they were almost using it as filler. About 90 % of the poems were incredibly short, averaging about one sentence in length. However, the ones I liked really stuck with me. I think it was an overall really great collection, just maybe not my cup of tea. I think I would have to say part 3 is my favorite section.
