Racy in that yes the main character is a prostitute there are sex scenes. The book opens with her at work. The scenes are tame, Lindskold gives just enough information for you to fill in the blanks as wanted, so no porn on paper.
The characters have real reactions. Although sometimes you feel like "oh this is now happening or when did this happen?" exspecially when it comes to Clarence and Smokey's relationship.
I think Bonny's nicknamesare cute however some people may not feel the same.
There are gay and lesbian characters (normally I won't say but I have a friend that wanted to.know of more books that had such characters)
Plus my favorite scene is Smokey dancing with Fox.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I didn’t think it was capable for the series to get better. Haskell is such a talented writer and story teller that the second installment not only expands on the first, it enriches it. In this novel, we are treated to more in-depth look at the world and mythology, which are both intricate and original.

Plus I absolutely love Rio. She is a solid character, it’s hard to not like her. She has such a strong, dynamic personality, and yet we are allowed to see the inner workings of her mind where her insecurities are evident.

A steady paced novel with an interesting world and entertaining characters, Sanyare is an immediate favorite that I tend to follow to its end.

Harkness is my favorite author, and I love her All Souls Universe. While I liked this novel, and anxiously awaited it, it was... odd. It was an odd summer jaunt and, while I ended up really liking it at the end, it was kind of... unnecessary? Pointless? I feel like that's a harsh word to use, since I did enjoy it.
It was basically the guide to becoming a vampire in the universe. Honestly, I've always thought Phoebe was a boring character and her transformation into a vampire was...boring. Marcus was, by far, the best part of the book. I'm not a huge fan of children in books, because I just don't think they're interesting. I was relieved when I was done reading those chapters.
Overall, I liked it, but it was just a weird foray.

I listened to this on Audible. I enjoyed it, and I enjoyed the Marcus bits too - and I have to agree that I could’ve done without Phoebe. She’s not one of the most interesting characters!

"First of all, how can you go wrong with a cast that includes Dennis Wilson, James Taylor, Harry Dean Stanton, Warren Oates, and of course Laurie Bird? I often imagine how great it would be to go back in time and see this film in some half-empty cinema when it opened. I discovered this film while working at the video store, when there was renewed interest in it in the late nineties. I even went so far as to reach into my video-store earnings and buy the deluxe edition, which came in a tin can with a comprehensive book. Well worth it for the unseen photos. The beginning scene, with its utter lack of dialogue, has to be one of my favorite pieces of cinema. Much of the acting feels improvised, which adds to the lost, directionless quality."
