This would have been better as a novella. I felt there was more filler than normal and it was odd that she had two books building to something, I expect that the next one will be something large. I'm not going to lie I did think of Monty Python while reading this book so there were some unintentionally (?) funny parts. There is the usual Mercy wit so that's good Picks up not too long after Storm Cursed. I enjoyed this book but it wasn't my favorite.

I really enjoy Kate Mosse's books, and I always devour them. This book is the start of the new series, and, of course, it takes place in Mosse's favorite area, Carcassonne.
Honestly, the mystery involving Minou was fairly easy to solve, at least for me. I enjoyed the characters and the writing overall.

Now, I just need to find a copy of The City of Tears, the second book in the series. Mosse's books are fairly hard to find here in the USA sometimes, so I'm on the hunt.

What a fantastic book!
I Loved Jody Hedlund's take on this classic fairytale. It was beautifully done, and really was not that similar to the original story which I enjoyed as the original is not my favorite. Both main characters were detailed and well laid out, with fun and interesting twists that kept me engaged. Highly recommend read this one if you like stories of love, hope, and finding who you are.

*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

"Knowing it is my favorite book, for my 34th birthday, a boyfriend once gave me a signed first edition of Erica Jong’s Fear of Flying. Having always read tattered paperback versions, I had no idea the original was adorned with a spectacularly ornate cover that’s evocative of a Hieronymus Bosch. I’m not a big collector of anything but no matter how often I pare down my belongings, I never get rid of this. (Even though the boyfriend was long-ago lost to history, his accompanying birthday card remains tucked inside the book.)"

I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley for an unbiased opinion.

The Awkward Yeti may very well be my favorite online comic. This newest collection will make awesome holiday presents for any of your friends that feel the same way. The daily battle between our hearts and our brains is perfectly depicted. So happy I got a chance to review this.
