Erika (17788 KP) rated Captain America: The Captain in Books
Jan 18, 2021 (Updated Jan 18, 2021)
This book is a massive collection of the run of 'The Captain' series. It's one of my favorite runs. Steve Rogers, fka Captain America, can no longer use his shield because it's property of the gov. the mantle is taken up by John Walker.
I believe they may use some of this run in the new The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which would be great, because it's a solid story.

Heathere' (25 KP) rated Fables & Fairy Tales to Cross Stitch in Books

Cross Stitch/ point de croix~with a retro feel!
There are so many patterns to choose from in this book by, VĂ©ronique Enginger. This is a newer release book and originally available in French with a different cover and at a much higher price. I adore VĂ©ronique's patterns and am a big fan of her work! This book is full of fairy tale characters, characters from fables and French nursery rhymes. My favorite is Little Red Riding Hood but Beauty & The Beast and The Little Mermaid were also in the run for my favorite. I would complete all of the patterns, I love this book, that much! I like that VĂ©ronique creates patterns that can tell a story or you can choose to stitch a smaller scene or character. VĂ©ronique's patterns of faces are incredible and look like true works of art. It is very difficult finding cross stitch patterns with such natural looking faces. I have made several of her patterns and they are easy to follow and look just like the finished samples on the pages of her books. This book has given me so much inspiration and joy and I can't wait to work on more of the patterns. The book is hardcover and has nice big pages to make it easy to work from. The patterns have a retro feel that you might find on a 1940's-50's apron, blanket or tablecloth. I highly recommend this book for cross stitch enthusiasts, like myself. This isn't a beginner's book, however and should know how to read a cross stitch graph. It's also helpful to know how to stitch on linen to give these a more professional feel and more realistic look.

Keeps track of your books & dates you read them (3 more)
Allows you to set goals
Links with other social media to see what friends are reading/recommending
Offers book suggestions
I love this app. I didn't realize at first that you could actually use it as more than a book reviewing site. You can add books you have read, books you'd like to read, and books you are currently reading. You can choose the edition of the book you're reading so it keeps an accurate account of how far you've made it through the book. I also really like that it keeps track of the dates you read the book. The app is linked to other social media accounts so you can see what friends are reading or wanting to read and vice versa. Goodreads offers suggestions of what to read next or books that are popular in your favorite genres. Honestly have nothing bad to say about it!

Where to start! Wow this book was a fantasic story, my favorite version of the the story of Ruth, Boaz & Naomi.
The author did a marvolus job weaving in the oppression and belief systems that are part of the hindu faith and showing how God can work through any circumstance. I loved the interaction between characters and I was pulled in from the very beginning of the book. I would definitely recommend picking this book to read and I already can not wait to read more books by Naomi Stephens.
One thing that I did not particularly like however was the use of a couple cuss words, as they really do not add to the story. Personaly I do not see a reason for them to be used in a christian fiction book.
I was given a copy of this book for honest feedback by Barbour Publishing the opinions expressed with in are my own.

A book that inspires you to live while you're alive and to find yourself (2 more)
Easy to get lost in this book, you'll find yourself wandering thru Rome, India and Bali, personally experiencing Elizabeth's journey
Loss, humor, insight and drama and romance, this book has it all
"I used to have this appetite for my life. And now it’s just gone. I want to go someplace where I can MARVEL at something." Elizabeth Gilbert
Contains spoilers, click to show
Elizabeth Gilbert is one of my favorite authors so I knew this would be an amazing book and I was not disappointed! She has this amazing ability to make you forget you're reading a book...suddenly you're in the book, experiencing everything due to the beautiful detail and honesty with which she writes. An inspiration to everyone who has ever felt lost, stuck, hopeless or lost their zest for life. While we can't all take off and travel the world to find ourselves like Elizabeth, we can live vicariously through her writing and gain hope, insight and in the end happiness.
Miguel Covarrubias (143 KP) rated Otherworld (Otherworld, #1) in Books

I was quite surprised by the book! I had no idea that the author was the "Jason Segel" from tv and movies, until midway through the book when I needed to know more about the author. I was pleasantly surprised the characters were well fleshed out and were not two dimensional as most sci-fi can do. I was a bit hesitant at the start of the book as I had seen some hype saying that this was the next "Ready Player One". I really dislike when people compare things like that. Especially when they are compared with my favorite book. Don't even get me started on the movie for that book.
This had a great world, and I'm really excited to get to go back for the second book, currently it's on hold at the library once I'm off the waitlist will definitely dive in. I'm glad that the characters were flawed and real. The worlds were developed and thought out. The plot was fully considered. I'm rather impressed with Jason Segel's writing ability.

Lindsay (1717 KP) rated Journey to Munich (Maisie Dobbs #12) in Books
Feb 15, 2018 (Updated Apr 9, 2019)
What a journey this book takes you on. This book takes you back to WW2 a bit and Nazi time. What will happen to Maisie Dobbs? The story gets even better as you read.
Why is everything a secret? They need to get a British man home from Munch. Will that happen? Maisie got to go to Germany as a family member of the man who being held by Hitler.
Maisie needs to be careful and Also protected. Will she return back home safe or will she be caught?
Jacqueline Winspear has become one of my favorite authors with the first book that I got to review. I will be looking for more of her books. I love to finish off the rest of the books in this series. She captured my attention the min you start reading. It takes a bit before getting to the story of a book. She gives a little background about Maisie Dobbs from the earlier book and continues on in this book.
