Can be slow paced for younger readers
Much better than I remember it being
I remember that this was the most difficult Harry Potter book for me to get through the first time. I thought it was long and poorly paced. However, I was much younger and lengthwise it was a jump from the first three.
Having read it a few more times since then, I have come to better appreciate Goblet of Fire. It's still not my favorite of the series, but the story is well written, and an older me prefers that Rowling took her time developing the plot for this one.

Alison Pink (7 KP) rated Stone Cold (Camel Club, #3) in Books

This book is my favorite in the Camel Club series by far! The story was filled with so many twists & turns that is was quite the breathless ride. I couldn't put it down for the last half & felt like I held my breath the entire time I was reading!
It tells the story of Soviet & American spies during the Cold War. Without giving too much away there is a great deal of murder & treason involved...along with a great con. I am in love with the character of Annabelle Conroy & so glad that Baldacci decided to bring her along for the ride in this installment too. Looking forward to the next chapter in the Camel Club saga!!!!

This was very, very good. I really enjoyed it, especially because I listened to it as an Audiobook and it was read by Rosario Dawson. She's always been one of my favorite actresses, but I didn't how great she is at voices or how captivating she can be just by listening to her. She really brought the story to life and made me care about and like Jazz, as well as the other characters. I really hope Andy Weir writes a sequel to Artemis because he definitely left it open for one, and if not, I'll be really disappointed. But overall, I loved this book and I would read it again in a heartbeat!!
Alicia S (193 KP) rated Hard Beat (Driven, #7) in Books

Kristy has done it again... yet another fabulous book but one of my absolute favorite authors! Hard Beat, while part of the Driven series, was very different from the rest of the books she has written. While surely different, like all of her books, I was sucked in from page one. Totally different storyline, tough girl meets soft guy and under the most intense situation. The constant head-butting from these two was so much fun to read.. while Tanner & Beaux's connection is apparent right from the start. I LOVE that this was written from his POV and was of course beyond thrilled to have appearances of Rylee & Colton ;-) Amazing read, HIGHLY recommended!!!

Fun Christmas Read
This is a great book for anyone looking to get into the holiday spirit. The plot is much like that for your typically Hallmark movie, and I for one love it.
Evie is a dancer who finds herself in the small town of Fools Gold after she is injured. The story follows her as she reconnects with her family, and fights against her attraction for the boy next door.
This is technically part of a series, but you do not need to be familer with the other books to enjoy it. I do want to read the other books as soon as possible now. Mostly in hopes of my favorite characters making an appearance.
