I always like a good disaster book. This one really caught my eye because it is the event described in The Miseducation of Camron Post so I wanted to learn more. Unlike some disaster books written from a purely scienticfic perspective this book focused on the human element. This is really what interests me since you see the true nature of humanity during tragedy. The way the author follows the various peoples stories and intertwines them when necessary makes you feel like you are there and seeing the events happen.

Okay there is no doubt about it...Tina Fey is hilarious! This book was such an easy, enjoyable read! I found myself laughing at something on pretty much every single page. The good thing about this though is that the jokes didn't feel "forced." They fit perfectly with the flow of the story. The book did bounce around a bit, but it was easy to follow & didn't take away from the story itself. I'm not normally a biography/autobiography fan, but this really was an excellent read. I wish I'd read it sooner!

Good introduction to the power of institutions
Owen Jones' essay is essentially an introduction to a vast subject that can actually be broken down in to separate books in itself. It is a hugely fascinating, disturbing and grotesque look into how power is welded by the few.
However I feel that he spread himself a little too thin, as Martin Williams wrote a similar novel in Parliament Ltd focusing on parliamentary expenses that was far more detailed and less narrative. This would have been five stars if it had been separated.

Good, but the best bits are in the trailer
This is a fairly solid film for Tom Cruise, with a great script and a very interesting and fun way to tell this intriguing (and almost unbelievable) story. I feel Domnhall Gleeson is a little underused, and my main issue with this is that all of the funniest parts were in the trailer. I know this is standard for lots of films, but with American Made it felt like ALL of the humour was in the trailer, which kind of ruins that aspect of the film.
Imagine knowing nothing of the outside world. From birth, all you know and have ever seen is all in one room. This book is powerful. I feel it gets most of its strength from the fact that everything is written from Jack's perspective. He is 5. If he doesn't know what something is, you don't either. Outside is completely alien to Jack. A little real life horror here.
A note about the movie: the only good parts in that movie happened in the first half hour. That movie DID NOT do justice to this book!

Great Read
This is definitely Joe Jill's best book so far. It's a very interesting and unique story, and I could barely put it down. One of the few books I'd love to see turned into a (good) film. My only criticisms would be is that I feel the ending was slightly disappointing and that I started to get a little irritated by the fact that a lot of the chapters ended in cliffhangers, despite you then finding out the outcome on the very next page. Seems a little pointless after a while.

This was an excellent read! I loved the characters and the different perspectives we got the story from, not only the main characters but the supporting ones as well. I loved how the story showed how much of a difference one person can make in someone's life and how one choice can change the course of that person's life completely. Daniel and Natasha made me believe in true love and fate they made me feel like anything is possible which I think is the mark of a really good story.

One for the Slasher fans
A very good early 80's slasher film with some original kills, even by todays standards! It did feel a little bit long and slow at times but it has plenty of red herrings and quite a twist for a very early slasher film. The poster alone stuck in my head from an early age for quite a while. Not overly gory but still a very enjoyable film for slasher fans. Just seen the lead character was the blonde girl in little house on the prairie.

About time DC had some fun!
Ok, so it's not great but you know what? Watch it for fun and you won't feel disappointed. The plot is ok, the action is good and the brooding hero of the hour is a perfect cast.
It's about time DC lightened up and they've done so here. Standard fayre, learning the ropes, training montages and a bit of a family feud but I can think of worse ways to spend a couple of hours. I'm looking at you Batman Vs Superman...

A very different season
After the tension of the previous couple of seasons, this one is very up and down. The biggest surprise was a huge jump in the time line early on in the series. As always there are big twists and a new group of baddies encountered. The series didn't really end on a big cliff hanger as usual. A mixed season with some good story lines but also a major shift in the overall feel of the show.
