Beautifully bittersweet

The first few chapters threw me. We're led through different times and it took me a while to adjust and understand....... totally worth it!
Going alongside Emily in her journey of self discovery was definitely like being in a different world. It was quite immersive and so bittersweet and heartbreaking, yet it filled me with warmth. I won't go into any details about why it made me feel this, I want you to experience this for yourselves.

Each character had a good solid personality and the interactions between them were well written.

White Crocodile was a book that surprised me. At first I was only interested because of the idea of mine clearers. Then there was an explosion. Then I got to know the characters a little more. It was fair paced but not as fast as I’d have liked. About halfway I began to get really curious about the plot, and then it started getting fast and surprising me at every turn. From there it didn’t let go. I feel like it could have started stronger (especially considering how good the ending was). The narration was good except every once in a while a line was so quiet I could barely hear it. All in all it was a very nice listening experience for a crime novel with a really exciting surprising ending.

This series gets better and better!
It’s not often that the second book in a trilogy is better than the first, but I really feel that’s the case with this book. The machinations against one another (that’ll be EVERYONE!), the political intrigue - no-one trusts anyone else in this series, and for good reason! Nobody is particularly nice. The sexual tension between Jude and Carden reaches a whole new level, but even then, there’s no trust. I didn’t see ANY of the double crosses coming, but then I was so sucked in to the story, so it’s hardly surprising.
This is such a good series, and I have a year to wait for the last instalment!!
Many thanks to Readers First for my copy of this book, and for feeding the Faerie land addiction!

A funny look at morning news, its personalities and what goes into the making of a morning show. Becky, the heroine, has been fired from Good Morning New Jersey. The only job she can get is a Daybreak, a national morning show where the ratings are so bad, they barely register anything at all. Becky, the hardest working producer in TV, goes to work. She fires and hires, finds romance. She recruits a famous news man (the third worst person in the world) to join the morning show. It is hilarious and touching - when they put the weather guy on the roller coaster, I almost spit out my drink. Watch it, its fun.

I really enjoyed this book. I found that the storyline was not predictable and that I was constantly on the edge of my couch reading this book. I finished this book in 24 hours. It was extremely good and I found myself captured by this book.

The writing was better than I expected. Most romance books that I have read are poorly written and filled with smut. I found that this book was well written and I didn't feel like the sex was too over the top.

The characters were lovable and I found myself laughing many times. I loved all of the characters and felt like the author knew what she was talking about.

All in all, this was a very good book. I will definitely look into Cindy Gerard's books in the future.

Great Adaptation
I have been waiting for this adaptation since I read the books a good few years ago. When it was finally announced, I was buzzing with excitement and for good reason. This film adaptation was pretty well done and felt like my vision of the book came to life. I originally had some doubts about the casting choices made, but those thoughts were immediately put out of my head when I watched the film; the casting choices were perfect and I now can't imagine anyone else playing those roles. Certain scenes did feel a bit rushed and should have been extended as I was left with a feeling of whiplash, but other than that, I was very happy with this YA adaptation.

Good movie
I enjoyed this movie, but it's not one I see myself watching multiple times. The story follows a woman grieving the loss of her husband. Before his death she was heavily involved with her church, but her grief causes her to turn from God. This movie focuses on having faith in God, amd helping others while they are struggling with there faith. The church community played an active role in the story, and overall I think the movie did a good job showing grief. At times I was worried that the romance would be used as an easy way out, but in the end it was done in a way that didn't feel forced or rushed. If you are a fan of religious movies this is one you should consider watching.

Fairly lavish historical romp from the Salkinds and Richard Lester; the kind of film that lets you feel cultured for no very good reason. The (somewhat thin) plot concerns the machinations of the evil Milady against musketeer d'Artagnan and his nearest and dearest, but what you stick around for are the incidental jokes, big turns from a star cast, and peerless fight choreography from William Hobbs, doyen of sword masters.

The humour is broader than in the first film, but the overall tone is somewhat darker, with an unexpectedly downbeat ending: this is reflected in a striking performance by Oliver Reed, the kind of thing which really makes one wish he had had a more consistent career. Rather classier than it probably deserved to be, and good fun.
