King of New York
King of New York
2014 | Dice Game, Entertainment, Fighting, Science Fiction
This game is not as good as King of Tokyo. I feel like the directions for New York assume that you already know how to play and leave a bunch of information out. There are a lot of pieces to this game and a lot that goes into playing it. Maybe if I played Tokyo a lot, I would be more comfortable with the playing of this game.

When I read the description I was heartbroken. The love story between Chandler and Faith was perfect! But, I know life changes and so do we, so I wanted to see what happened. Mitchell again does a flawless job with well developed characters and creating emotions that, as a reader, I could feel. It is easy to get immersed in these books. Also, good to remember that everything changes.

Have you ever read a book that was so good that once you realized how close to the end you were coming, you deliberately started dragging the pages out? Like, seriously reading one page per minute? That's how I feel right now with this Gem of a book that I purchased (yes, purchased) from the library! Pick this book up if you can! You won't regret it! #SmashHonors #IPromise!

Before hipsters were really a thing, this mellow music man was setting a new genre all of his own. Quiet, whispered lyrics, a dreamy feel, and a melancholy whimsy, that makes you want to brew a herbal tea and sit on the porch as the sun goes down. As good lyrically as musically, almost every half decent alt-folk and alt-country act since this album owes it a debt.

"As Earth’s ever-decreasing non-renewable resources diminish, we must alter our consumption patterns or we will all end up with nothing. This book shows us where we are currently standing and the unfortunate reality we don’t want to face. Reading this book will make you not only face the horrors of reality but will make you feel that you want to work to make a good future."

Fanny and Alexander (1982)
1982 | Drama, International

"Existential angst, black-and-white landscapes that feel cut out of slate and bone, quivering ruminations on mortality, and symbolic self-reflexive experimentation in film form-that’s all very masterful and inspiring and well and good, but I didn’t fall in love with Bergman until I discovered (via this box set) Fanny and Alexander. A rich adult fairy tale about how we use storytelling in our lives, not for pleasure alone."

"I put this on the list because I remember listening to it and thinking that there wasn’t anything that sounded as vital. There’s a see-saw of performance and song and this was all performance and you can feel the excitement on this recording. It’s an unusually good live number. Also Wayne Kramer from the band follows me on the Twitter machine, so in internet terms he’s my friend."

New Sound
This is not what I expected from The Vaccines. Their drop track Handsome didn't set up the right feel for this album. Honestly, I know so many Vaccines fans who don't care for this album and generally skip it in their discography. It's a good idea to explore sound, but I think this is a change from the sound we've all known and come to love.
