This is my first time reading a book by Janice Carter and boy will I be reading more!
From the first page Janice Carter created a connection with her characters (and me) that I really enjoyed. It had a hint of mystery at the beginning, probably partially because I have not read the previous books in the series, but it intrigued me just the same. I liked the chemistry between Ben and Ella, the little flashbacks to days gone by was a special touch that let me feel like I had known the characters personal, and they had such good interactions with each other. Add in the good storyline and you have a recipe for a good relaxing evening (and if you are like me, wanting some hot chocolate to go with the book!

A different type of action film
A very interesting idea a film using real Navy Seal's doing action scenes that are like the missions they have done! The action is very good, interesting to know it is authentic, the tactics used and even the methods used to get around the globe in in and out of mission zones. The real problem is the acting, pretty terrible and the plot is very thin, it didn't feel like a film at times, more like a training video. As others have commented as well it does have that Call of Duty feel to it as well in the first person perspective scenes.....so a film that generation of fans will enjoy.

This book is a real feel good book. It's a book that wouldn't be out of place being read on a sun lounger somewhere hot on holiday. I would definitely recommend it to people. Even though it did have some low moments for the character, the highs outweighed these.
The description of the places made me feel like I was there and it made me want to revisit to Paris again.
This was a strong love story and I feel the descriptions and the setting helped bring this to life.
It was a love story between characters and the place.
The only downside was the timing of one part of the book.
The main character was due to meet the guy at 5pm and she arrived at 4.45pm. The character then sat down on the grass with the person she did meet and went onto a restaurant. They then discussed going to a museum which closed at 5pm (and I'm sure they had spent more than 15 minutes chatting and being in a restaurant ordering food). After ordering food they agreed to go to the museum and the main character said they still had 2 hours before it closed. This just didn't add up. The way it sounded was that the time was 3pm. This was very confusing and it did affect how I read that part of the book as it confused me. I even had to go back and re read it to make sure I wasn't incorrect and had read it incorrectly the first time.
Apart from that it was a good story line and as I said the descriptions of the places were perfect.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.

This is out and out a love story. The fact that it is two girls just adds another dimension. Cece is the 'out' lesbian. Holland is the girl everyone wants to be, ecept she is pretending. When she stops pretending to herself she begins to realize how very hard being yourself and love can be.I thought this book was good. As a teacher I think Julie Ann Peters does an excellent job of capturing what it means to be young and gay. I feel comfortable recommending this book to some of my students especially my LGBTQ kids. It has a good messege and hard realities.

Mary Poppins Returns (with a bang!)
Went with my husband and (nearly 20 year old) daughter, the main draw for her was Lin-Manuel Miranda (she is a big "Hamilton" fan), but the original with Julie Andrews was also a favourite growing up. What can I say? It was lively, engaging, amusing and had clever graphics and spectacular musical numbers in the spirit of the original film. Would definitely watch this again, Emily Blunt was really good. And it had Julie Walters. And Meryl Streep!! What more can you ask for?

I feel like this movie suffered from the same thing that Anthropoid thing, a boring build-up that doesn't really pay off in the end.
This movie felt like a 2 hours movie, which is never good. It was a long slog, and the tension wasn't built enough to actually interest me. It was a good story, but the pacing issue was bad.
Ben Kingsley was silently menacing, and tried to weasel his way out of taking the blame for anything. I felt like the movie was perhaps too kind towards his character? Oscar Isaac did well in his role, but it still wasn't enough to keep me completely enthralled.

I did not expect to like this film. Especially with how sketchy Adam Sandler's track record is. But I really enjoyed it. I think what made it so good was Jennifer Aniston. I also loved young Bailee Madison and Griffin Gluck. They are both succeeding in their own rights now and it's fun to see them younger and still talented and funny and just overall great.
I liked the slow burn of the film. Even though it was predictable and you knew what was going to happen, it was still enjoyable and a feel-good and definitely one I think I'll end up watching again.
