Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Tell Me Again How a Crush Should Feel in Books
Jan 12, 2018
This books does an amazing job or taking us through the complexities of coming out not only to others but to ourselves. The diversity of cultures really hits on what life really is like including the "toxic" people we may come in contact. Farizan does an amazing job capturing the emotions of her characters. Also it is nice not to have an LGBTQ novel that is all about sex but more the complexities of feelings and relationships.

Lost the old Indy magic
I have finally seen it and have mixed feelings. It just doesn't have some of the old Indy magic. The story is even more far fetched than usual and maybe it's a bit overloaded with CGI as well. Cate Blanchett's character is a bit OTT almost to the point of feeling like a comic book character. Overall still an entertaining film but not up there with the first three.

an important & sadly unique historical perspective, from that of a woman (4 more)
aesthetically gorgeous, with varying filming styles/ techniques that are blended together wonderfully
creates an incredibly number feeling which allows you to relate somewhat with Jackie (see disadvantage of this below*)
interesting perspective in the way the film almost entirely ignores JFK, allowing Jackie’s character/personality to fully come across
incredibly well acted

Jessica Erdas (463 KP) rated If I Stay (If I Stay, #1) in Books

This was one of those rare times where I watched the movie before reading the book. Even knowing what was going to happen didn't detract from the beautifully written and well thought journey. Full of entirely relatable feelings of not belonging, young love, heartbreak, the heart wrenching battle with tragedy, and more. Mia's battle with choosing to live on or to succumb to the tragedy that is thrown upon her is a worthy one to experience. Highly recommend.

Ruth Frampton (577 KP) rated The Snow Bear in Books

A sweet little story that sees the two children create a snowbear and then take it with them into the woods to play. Here their imagination takes hold and the adventure begins. What could be frightening for some little ones, this story has a safe ending and would be good for encouraging safe feelings.
My little one found it easy enough to read herself and spent time retelling the story from the images. Always a bonus.

Obsessed book reviews (49 KP) rated Under the Covers (The Texan Quartet #3) in Books

what a fab story, filled with romance and suspense. I loved the story line and was totally hooked. this is a fully romantic read with little hot moments but the story flows. the characters all worked together and moved the story along at a even pace. I loved how it was in both perspectives, so you got an insight into each of the characters thoughts and feelings

Taylor Cattes (6 KP) rated Bossa No Sé by Cuco in Music
May 28, 2019
Cuco, a Chicano artist from California, blew himself right out of the water with this hit. He has been planning on collaborating with Jean Carter for a while and it has been worth the wait. This song shows the conflict of feelings with an individual who has screwed you over but you still love them because love is complicated. I would definitely recommend listening to this song or even listening to Cuco's interesting musical style at least.

Once again, I have mixed feelings about a book. While this one was well written and the solution to the mystery not easily guessed, I felt the characters weren't particularly likeable. Unfortunately, that included the detectives. The ending also seemed a bit unresolved, which I know is realistic, but I prefer my fiction to be wrapped up a little tidier. Overall, I liked this book, but I'm not rushing out to pick up more of the author's work.

Four in a Grave
This. Book.
I have no words.
But I will try my absolute best, to sum up my feelings.
This book is about Tessa who is the only living survivor of a serial killer who buried her alive along with three other girls. Their grave was then covered with 'black-eyed Susans' which are a yellow flowered weed (hence the title of the book)

Predictable and Sad
I enjoyed this film but it’s predictable and I didn’t think parts would be as depressing as they were. I took my little sister to see this in the cinema and she enjoyed it until it started to get really upsetting, I think it’s a bit too sad to be a kids film. Other than that it was a nice change to the other films that have been released.
