"This is one of the first songs I can remember listening to over and over again as a little kid. I had ‘Puff the Magic Dragon’ and ‘Without You’ and they were my two favourite songs. I remember I would sit on the living room floor with my dad’s big headphones on, we had a massive CD player set and I would put it on and I’d just be… [gasps] I’d listen to it on repeat. “That was my first love of a pop ballad and I think those feelings were my first feelings of love in a way. I would just play it over and over and I think that was my first longing for wanting to create, but maybe not knowing that yet. Just being like ‘Oh my god, this is what I love.’ “It’s quite cool that it was Harry Nilsson, because I was just listening to what my parents were listening to at that time. I fucking love Harry Nilsson, he’s one of my favourite artists. Mariah Carey is a diva and she kills it, but it’s a different experience with the Mariah version. I love a diva and I love a good belt and an intense dramatic thing, but I like the more understated, simpler versions of things sometimes too. It’s like the Dolly Parton version of ‘I Will Always Love You’, there’s something so fucking beautiful and understated about that.”"

kinda cute
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarain, I was gifted my copy of this book.

I liked this book, but I didn't love it. Why?? I dunno, but book feelings are strong about this and ya'll know I need to share the book feelings!

It's a fun read, about friends who never really saw each other as anything other than best friends, until the thought of losing each other looms. And it's all laid out for you!

While there is romance here, there is no smexy times. I think that might be my biggest issue. I like my books smexy and I wanted Monique and Will to get their freak on, and they don't. At least, not on page. There's just some kissing.

It's painfully obvious who the secret admirers are, other than Will and Monique, but I didn't see the twist to Monique's boss' situation! So that was a great twist.

It's billed as a comedy romance. Now, I dunno if it was me, but I didn't get much comedy, at all!

It was a nice read (you know I don't like to use that word, but I can't find another one to fit!) one you can just fall into and wile away a couple hours, or less. Took me 90 mins.

I'd like to read something esle by this author, I haven't read her work before, but a longer work.

3 good stars

Emotional nutrition
Rupi Kaur puts so simply and articulates so clearly the feelings that so many have felt but not expressed. Her poems are so strikingly relatable and honest. Of course, it raises the question about what constitutes modern poetry given the odd structure, almost haiku-like. However, this is subjective.

This poem reads as a self-help or mindfulness book to a certain extent, but it is communicated through beautiful images and flowing language. It covers some hard-hitting topics and describes what it is like to be a woman in this day and age. If you're unsure on whether you'll enjoy it, go check out her Instagram page for snippets of her books.

I got way too emo reading this book
Did I read the final story about everyone reminiscing before the Ascensions the night before my own high school graduation? I might have. These stories came with me through some of the strangest and darkest years of my life (*cough* high school *cough*), and this book felt like a perfect way to tie up the couple of loose ends left by City of Heavenly Fire.

I get hooked on a multitude of feelings by Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014) #Review
Do you remember when summer SciFi blockbusters were unashamedly fun? Do you remember how you felt watching “Return Of The Jedi”? Before you got all old and cynical and ironic. Before your “Star Wars” heart was hardened by special edition vandalism and successive soulless prequels? Before the angry words and bitter sentiment of a million revisionist websites convinced you the Ewoks were irredeemably lame and that “Jedi” was when the rot started? Do you? Well, that’s what’s waiting for you on the other end of the tickets to Marvel’s “Guardians Of The Galaxy” that you’re going to buy...

This wasn't a bad book.. not really my thing and some spots seemed a bit odd for me but overall I enjoyed the mystery and murder to it.. I enjoyed seeing how the politics played into the mystery of this story. I am not a bit political person so that might have been part of my not being as into it as I normally would be.. however the murder mystery part of it kept me interested and invested. the writing did have some amazing feelings and emotions.. I felt with duncan on his daughters death... I felt his confusion and fear and pain. I am glad i got to review this one

If you lived in the USA after 9/11, the fact that Osama bin Laden was alive was like an open wound. Many Americans felt like there would never be closure to the events at the World Trade Center until he was brought to justice.

The sheer persistence of the CIA and the Justice Department in never giving up even after years of trying to hunt him down and tragedy within their own ranks is a testament to American will, drive and ambition.

Whatever your personal feelings on torture, this film walks the line of being objective and lets the viewer draw their own conclusions.

Very compelling film.
