Sarah Chapman (7 KP) rated Strangers: Prey at Night (2018) in Movies

At many points this movie feels like a Lifetime original movie. The characters consistently make decisions that are beyond stupid, stupidity that can't be reasoned away by the "in-the-moment" fear of the situation. It's like they have no sense of self preservation. They run around screaming out for others when there are bad guys actively looking for them, and don't shoot the person that is trying to kill them when they have them at gunpoint.

A great idea poorly executed...
spin the spinner and move your piece, find out how your life is turning out... (oversimplified yes) but this is how this game feels. Check out Pursuit of Happiness if you are interested in this theme and want to actually play a game about living a life other than the one you are currently playing.

A complicated look at grief and change
This movie... Is hard to talk about. Not because it is poorly done, but because you feel so conflicted after you watch it. I was pretty disinterested in the beginning of this film, but once I reached the end of the film, I cried. The film feels a little disjointed and slow, but if you can get into it, it is a beautiful exploration of grief, love and change.

A very good film that feels similar in many ways to "Stand by me". Great acting from the young cast as a group of kids plan to get revenge on a bully. Though their attitudes change over the day, will they go through with it and with what repercussions?
The film handles the whole bully situaition well and will remind a lot of people how tough life can be as a young kid growing up and going through school.

An interesting take on addiction
This book tells the story of Nikkis decline into addiction and his struggles to get out of it. Some of the story Motely cruel fans will already know but in this book Nikki goes into the feelings and emotions behind the situation. The book is a bit dull in places.

I do enjoy this series. It may only be the second book but it feels like I've known the characters for a while now and I like them all, crazy as they are sometimes. I also love how Tori manages to get herself in trouble half the time and the guys come to her rescue and then end up saving each other in the end. Equal opportunities and all that.
I'm looking forward to book 3!
