It didn't have me flying by the seat of my pants. There were some moments of anxiety felt for the main protagonist but nothing really memorable. It was neither here nor there.

Good female protagonist, plot a bit clunky
I was definitely looking forward to watching this as it's very rare to have a superhero film geared towards female characters instead of side parts. The story and dialogue unfortunately was a bit of a let down which tends to be the case with some comic books because everyone's speech was that of a 10 year old. A good start however. Definitely want to see the character of Nubia in the next film.

Many people have talked badly about Mass Effect Andromeda, but in my opinion, the facial expressions in Horizon are not very good either. The idea that Aloy was supposed to romance characters and then didn't completely remove everything is a bit odd. You can tell when there should have been a romance option, but it's not in the dialogue

". . . And speaking of unruly women, this film from 1985 remains entirely fresh in the way it presents its female protagonist. Mona is an unlikely role model, a woman on the outside. She has rejected a repressive order that can be understood as a kind of patriarchy, and even though it does not end well for her, it’s clear that nevertheless, while she was able, she persisted."

Farcry with robot animals
Did I ask for farcry with robot giraffes. No but evidently I needed it. Such an endearing female protagonist, and not scantily clad. I support it. She's so badass and quick witted, a bit of an asshole and I love her for it. The customization actually mattered that was refreshing

I could not finish this book. I hated everyone except the dog. I found the casual talk of rape and pedophilia disgusting. Even the consensual sex acts often started with the protagonist peeping on an unknowing female lead. I understand that it is horror but it wasn't scary to me. There was no suspense, no chills, no one I wanted to remain unscathed from the mysteries of the canyon.

"The first time I watched this film, my mouth was hanging open for the entire duration. It’s an astonishing portrait of female adolescence that starts with a hurdle and never lets up. You walk with the young protagonist uphill both ways as she navigates life in a specific place and time. This is a hard and fast film that nevertheless has a tender touch that will break your heart"

It was a good dystopian fiction. I like how the female was a very strong protagonist. Most fifteen year olds I know would not survive so it seemed a bit unrealistic in that was because she was not a prepper family. That did not distract from the story though. It was well paced and had a good flow. It was a stand alone novel not part of a series and sometimes we need those in our reading lives.

Original, gruesome and fun!
Director Sam Raimi returns to his horror roots with this awesome flick about a female bank loan officer who has to show some backbone to get promoted and pisses off the wrong old lady.

Without saying too much, you will never predict where the film goes and the unusual circumstances the protagonist heroine finds herself in.

I was skeptical, but this movie rocks.

Please check it out.!

Charlize Theron makes this movie
This is definitely one of those marmite movies, in which you either love or hate it. At times, the female protagonist Lorraine, played by Charlize Theron, echoed Uma Thurman's character in Kill Bill - stylized sequences, strong female lead, a great 1980's soundtrack and cinematography - made for a good watch.

Where it fell short was the plot. It dragged in the middle of the film, where there seemed to be mindless violence for no apparent reason. The story follows Lorraine Broughton, who is sent to Berlin to find and deliver some priceless information back to MI6. She meets the local station chief David Percival and they get caught up in the normal Iron Curtain spy business you'd expect with people getting killed left right and centre.

The only problem with this is that if Theron’s character Lorraine Broughton had been a man, it wouldn't have changed a single frame of the film. I'd like to see an action film where the female lead isn't trying to be a man replacement or scantily-clad for the male gaze, I'd love to see a female lead being female.

Despite the incredible cast - Theron, James McAvoy, John Goodman - the acting was adequate for the kind of film this was, but it could have been so much better.
