A very clumsily filmed final fight scene. I mean there was too much going on, you couldn't process anything.
That scene where all the female superheroes bad together. I'm not against feminism, but that was forced in there for no actual reason.

3.5/5: A little over the top on the feminism scale. There were definitely things said to make it as though men have never added value in anyway. The representation of an asexual character and a gay character was great it helped to advance the plot but not be the main focus. I was not a fan of the ending it seemed rushed and not quite explained enough.

"This book is a landmark in terms of sex-positive feminism, and it’s one of the funniest, most honest books I’ve ever read. It’s a memoir by Xaviera Hollander that tells the story of her sexual life, from her first sexual experiences, to becoming one of New York's highest paid prostitutes, to being the madam of one of the city’s most infamous brothels. She’s one of my heroes, lol."

There's no justice, just us...
My reaction to this book was FINALLY someone is discussing the intersectionality between feminism, classism, and the British identity with race and racism. Absolutely current and relevant to society especially in the aftermath of the Brexit referendum. I read this in one go, nodding and shouting in agreement throughout. Reni Eddo-Lodge writes coherently and extremely succinctly to make the language accessible, and the anecdotes slightly terrifying. An absolute must-read and listen.

Hey look! It's the ONLY reason that the DCCU still has a pulse!
She didn't murder thousands of people. She didn't do billions of dollars in property damage. She didn't try and murder another hero so because.
It's Wonder Woman! As in, it's a wonder that WB took THIS long to make a movie about one of DC's Trinity. And she was portrayed flawlessly. The only reason this didn't get 10/10 was the way the main villain paid off, which isn't great. Gal Gadot needs an Oscar. Also, there was no super feminism or lack of feminism; it was addressed and then back to the story. LIKE IT SHOULD BE WITH ALL COMIC MOVIES. We aren't paying $10+ a ticket to see a movie about political views! We came to see heroes be heroes! Good on you, WB. Now let's not have Aquaman suck...

Loved reading this book. A nice quick read for those who aren't committed to a long read.

It's a wonderful re-imagining of the Hans Christian Anderson's version of The Little Mermaid. What I like is that it still follows this version of the events to an extent- more accurate than Disney's the little mermaid, at least.

The book is a great read for young women; teaching them that it is ok to be a woman, to love another woman, and to still be strong and independent regardless of social constraints.

What I perhaps dislike is that the man-hating is just a little too much. Yes, some men can be horrible and misogynistic. But not all men. I think there was all but one minor minor character who wasn't a brute towards females- an inaccurate representation of men if you ask me. It just seemed a little too much in my opinion.

But the story line, character development, and writing style are wonderful. :)

The Good Demon is a gritty, dark, and refreshing YA story about Clare, a 15 year old girl who undergoes an exorcism without her consent. After the demon within her is purged, Clare is sick of her community trying to decide what's best for her and sets off to reclaim the demon stolen from her. The Good Demon explores topics such as consent, feminism, and religion, all while supporting Clare as a woman who can and does make decisions for herself.

An aptly-timed anthology amid political turmoil
It's a wonderful array of female voices from all walks of life, my criticism comes in the form of possibly too many perspectives from Scotland and not many other places. There were a few too many arts focused viewpoints with third person interviews, a little amateurish editing, and the compilation of women could be more finessed.

That being said - I'm over the moon about intersectional feminism being discussed. A joy to read and a bit of a relief. It's no Vagina Monologues, but's still fairly decent.

Hard hitting read with lots of home truths
It's great to hear some real topics being discussed for a change - feminism, domestic violence, mental health and the justice system. The story is extremely dark but realistic sadly, and it's great that the writer did not hold back in showing all the different tenets of a personality. Some of the story was predictable in terms of who was sending the graphic emails, but rather than seeing it as a detective story, it's like a psychological analysis into people's characters.

Intriguing and interesting.

Another Marvel movie
Overall I thought it was a good movie. Yes the overtones of feminism can be inferred in this movie but if you strip it away to the nuts and bolts, it's another saga that adds to the massive MCU. Taking place in 1995 it adds more to the lore of SHIELD Nick Fury and the start of Earths place in the galactic universe. I highly recommend it with the suggestion to leave any politicalness (in either direction) behind in order to enjoy this really good movie.
