Hear me out. The thing about this film is that if you know anything about Jeremy Camp and his story, you know that Melissa dies. Spoiler alert - but I don't think that's news to anyone. I think what makes this film so good is that it's about a love story but it's almost four different love stories. It's about Melissa's blind, unwavering, awe-inspiring love for God. It's about Jeremy's renewal in that faith and in his belief and his love of God after Melissa dies. It's about Melissa and Jeremy's incredible love story - to walk through the fire together, until the end, to put it the way his dad does in the film. But it's also about God's love. And this is coming from a girl who is unsure about what to believe in the slightest. I'm not the preaching, church-going, praying person. I'm not even sure if there is a God, but I believe that people believe it and I respect them for it. Maybe I'll find it one day, maybe I won't. Regardless, this film is beautiful.
What annoys me about the critics that watched this film and their reviews is that they're almost surprised that she dies and that it's a Christian film. Like, do you know anything about Jeremy Camp and who he is? He's literally a Christian singer - for a living. I think this is one of those films where the audience is way more insightful than critics. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I feel like it's so easy for critics to critique and not just escape in the film. But I digress.
K.J. Apa and Britt Robinson are forces in this film. I think that they already have long, successful careers in front of them, without a doubt, but when they work together, they make some serious magic. This is their second film together and I could watch them in a million more. Shania Twain was a nice plug. I think sometimes when you put big country stars in films - Trace Adkins, Shania, etc. - it can be kind of overpowering (depending on the film), but she's very understated but memorable. The standout though, to me, other than the leads was Gary Sinise as Jeremy's dad. There's a moment towards the end of the film where he's just overcome and he leans against the wall and there's a picture of K.J. (meant to be Jeremy) under him and it just hits you. I feel like that was his strongest moment and one of the best moments of the film.
Overall, I think this film is really beautiful. I'm sure I'll come back to it a million times more. I definitely recommend watching it, just have tissues.

The Hill House
House on Haunted Hill- is one of the best horror movies of all time. Its terrorfying, horrorfying, scary, spooky, terrorfying and more.
The Introduction by Vincent Price is perfect, he introduces the movie and tells us the viewer what were going to witness. Vincent Price's spooky and creepy introduction is terrorfying.
The Plot: Rich oddball Frederick Loren (Vincent Price) has a proposal for five guests at a possibly haunted mansion: Show up, survive a night filled with scares and receive $10,000 each. The guest of honor is Loren's estranged wife, Annabelle (Carol Ohmart), who, with her secret lover, Dr. Trent (Alan Marshal), has concocted her own scheme to scare Loren's associate, Nora Manning (Carolyn Craig), into shooting the potentially crazy millionaire. But more spooks and shocks throw a wrench into the plan.
The film is in the public domain.
The film was remade as the 1999 film House on Haunted Hill, which had a 2007 sequel titled Return to House on Haunted Hill. The 1999 film was released to middling reviews but was a box office success, while the 2007 sequel was direct-to-video and widely panned. Dont watch those films.
In 2017, another remake is in development and a prequel to the original film, which the latter will be written by Castle's daughter Terry Castle. That will be intresting if it happens.
I would highly reccordmend this movie.

Cool cars
Back on track
At last the majority of the original cast are back for a true sequel. It's great how some of the film relates back to what happened in the first and some of the locations are still the same. I heard mixed reviews of this but I thought it was great and the 2nd best in the series now after the first. Even Han from Tokyo drift makes a brief appearance at the start to tie things in a bit. There is plenty of action and cool cars and a great street race scene thats better than the 1/4 mile race of the first. There are rumours there could be a couple more yet, if they get the cast to stay together and a good story it could make for an even better film.

one of katherine heigl's best
I really liked this movie! I was really surprised by the ratings from critics and other people, I thought it was super cute. Sure, it was predictable, but it was still a really cute movie. It had a few hidden gems in there - "Having someone help you doesn't mean you've failed. It just means you're not in it alone." I think that Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl are great together. I can't say enough good things!
Everyone knows that my reviews always have a favorite character - almost always a supporting character and in this film it was Janine. She was so funny and when she cried? I lost it. I loved this film. It's an easy watch, it's a cute rom-com, great for a night in with some wine and popcorn!

Spooktacular
I am unsure as to why Ghosts of War is receiving less fanfare than other films out at the moment. It is certainly heads above the other deluge of horror films out this year so far. The film and its setting does have a great amount of creeps and chills and thats from someone who leads a group of investigators who go in people's homes when they are about to flee as they cant take it anymore. However I fear the low rating on various reviews is due to the ending. Without giving away any spoilers, it does somewhat change the films journey and direction but does give one something to think about. I for one enjoyed it.

A little OTT
So today was my first trip back to the cinema since COVID kicked off, and Unhinged was my film of choice (figured itâd be fairly quiet during the day - I was right). I had seen nothing about this film other than reviews on here and overall it didnât make for a bad return to the cinema.
Letâs start with the major negative and positive, this film is ridiculously over the top. From the hammy overacting from Russell Crowe (who must have had a hoot filming this) to the excessive number of unnecessary deaths, this doesnât hold back. Thereâs a good amount of gore and the car chase scenes are quite tense and exciting. My biggest problem is that the major of the main characterâs actions donât make sense and just become irritating when she does things that seem ridiculously stupid. Some things were that unbelievable that I was almost screaming at the screen in frustration (and only just restrained myself when I remembered I was actually in a public place and no longer in my home cinema đ ). However there were at least a few incidents that made me laugh too.
Overall this isnât a bad film and was vaguely entertaining. If they had toned back the ridiculous aspects and made it more tense and believable, it wouldâve been a much better film as road rage is a major problem for some people. Sadly I probably enjoyed and got far more excited over the Tenet and The Kingâs Man trailers beforehand than during this entire film, but it was still fairly enjoyable for my first foray back to the cinema.

Don't believe the critics reviews! Can't believe this scored 32% on Rotten Tomatoes. The franchise is back on track after the below par previous installment. The Sfx are very good and the overall feel of the film is more like the first three films. It ties in nicely with elements to the first three films as well. Faded a bit towards the end, but this series isn't dead in the water.

McKellen teamed up with director Bill Condon in 1998 for Gods & Monsters. This period drama recounts the partly fictionalised last days of the life of film director James Whale, whose experience of war in the First World War is a central theme.
Although criticised for being overly-simplistic, McKellenâs performance received rave reviews, and he was nominated for his first Academy Award in the Best Actor category. Unfortunately, he didnât go on to win this time around, but it remained a highlight in a career filled with fabulous work.
