Three unique perspectives into Amish life.
The first story is about a widow and her son with Down Syndrome and how she finds love again with a man she least expects. I loved the perseverance in this story! No matter what obstacles many come your way we can't give up but need to figure out ways to over come those obstacles.
Second we have a women at a crossroad in her life, she has to trust fully that God will lead her in the right direction even when it seems everyone around her is against what she believes God is telling her to do. I think this one was a great story on listening to God and not giving in to what the world wants you to do.
Last we have a story about a young women who is very shy who learns to overcome her fears to find love, loss, and a family of her own. This one was probably my favorite. It really is true that you have to stop thinking about what people might think of you and just be yourself or you will never grow into the person you are supposed to be.
I loved this book and would highly recommend adding it to your TBR pile.
I volunteered to read this book from Barbour Publishing in exchange for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

One of the most optimized stand-up routines in all of comedy, tapers off a bit in the last half hour but otherwise most of this flows together perfectly - not a word wasted, not a word too heavy, not a word missing. A breathless, hysterical tirade of brute toxicity which many performers today try and fail to emulate with their "can't say ANYTHING these days amirite??" out-of-touch middle-aged man energy. A simple facet of comedy this exemplifies which the aforementioned curdled attempts at Reddit-tier provocation fail to realize is that you have to try to be funny first, *then* go for the offensive stuff. The crowdwork here is just insane, Murphy as a stage performer was unmatched in the 80s: the energy, the creativity, the gravitas, the sheer talent. Not only are his vocal impersonations on point as always, but so too are his physical ones - a simple change in glance and facial expression and you feel like you're *actually* watching that person until the real Eddie 'returns'. It's nuts. Then it's also got such infectious 80s flair and is one of the few stand-up movies where the skit stuff at the beginning is actually worthwhile (looking at you, π˜’π˜¦π˜·π˜ͺ𝘯 𝘏𝘒𝘳𝘡: 𝘞𝘩𝘒𝘡 π˜•π˜°π˜Έ?). The Mockingbird's Song continues on the story of what happens with Sylvia and Amy and Henry and their mother. We start with them getting close to the time the tragedy happens. It seems like things focus on Sylvia and her grief.

We also meet a new person named Denis Weaver. Could there be a connection between Dennis and Sylvia? Sylvia first meets Dennis while out with her brother Henry bird watching. This book takes time to get into the beginning. It starts out slow but once you are into the book it gets better.

We see Virginia and her husband's personality through these books. It funny to see this along with how they see the Amish. Amish seem not bothered by their neighbors. We see how each member is still dealing with the loss of their family members.

Amy and Jerrod seem to be getting ready for their wedding. What happens when things start to pick up and the vandalism starts up again. Who is vandalizing the greenhouse? Why is happening? Seem to still be a mystery. Though we may have some answers.

More twists and turns as you turn the pages. Though this book is rated 4.5 by me as it is still good. This one focuses on family and bird watching and learning more about birds. Will Sylvia find her happiness with bird watching or someone or both? How will Belinda cope with her grief and other things?

I listened to the audio of this memoir from the former First Lady of the USA and it was beautifully narrated by the author. There is something special about listening to a memoir as read by the person who experienced it, it makes it a very personal experience. I was sucked into the life of Michelle and was moved by her highs and lows.

Taking us from her humble beginnings right through to the last days at the White House we get a very big picture of the life of Michelle. On the whole I found it interesting and at some points very moving (Ok I admit it I cried.) It was great to get an insight into worlds I know little about and she comes across as a very motivated and determined lady.

I loved they way she told various anecdotes from throughout her life but especially of her experiences in the White House. Considering some of the level of detail in her earlier life I was a little disappointed not to get more on the White House years we seemed to go through several with little coverage, which considering it wasn’t a short book seemed a little lopsided.

I did find myself losing focus sometimes but I have little interest in experiences around raising children and a few other areas that just didn’t come to life for me. All in all a worthwhile if lengthy listen that Michelle makes memorable.
