It is a good game over all
This was an interesting game. I had heard a lot of good stuff about it and had to try it. In the beginning I can say I hated it, there was nothing to really do and the game seemed overly complex. Later in the game I still looked at it unfavorably, winning combat was difficult and most of the game you are shepherded by the person who first manages to get to the main bit of land on the map. In the end I started to enjoy it, with the strategies which could come into play, actually sneaking in the points, and the multipliers for being a liked person in the game. This game has a lot of potential and I hope future expansions find a way to improve the experience

Love it!!

Justin Long's character reminds me so much of myself. The line about how his therapist says he's a narcissist for believing he is the smartest person in the world and his reply... Instantly made me love the character. This movie parallels a very... significant time in my life. So close that it's almost scary... Emmy Rossum also is one of my favorite actresses. These two together, which are pretty much the only characters in the story, are more than enough. This movie... It makes me cry almost every time I watch it, but I can't count how many times I have. Maybe it's just how closely it mirrors events in my life, but I fell in love with this movie the first time I saw it and has been my favorite movie ever since. If you are a romantic person, watch this movie. However, be ready to shed a few tears...

Okay so! Throughout this book my thoughts swapped and changed first I thought I can't get into this, then I thought oooh I wonder what I would do? then I thought I would enjoy the part in the present more because in the words of Giles from Buffy's quote that goes "She lives very much in the now, and history of course, is very much about the then" sums me up perfectly but noo! The present bit began and I found it a little slow, but I got more into it as the story went on. I jumped from person to person like well I think they should have the painting, followed by oh no I don't!, followed by OH BUT! I finally settled on the fact that I thought Liv should get to keep it :) Although slow in places I thoroughly enjoyed this book alot more than I thought I would!

If you or someone in your family meets someone new it can be a bit scary at first. Well this book called “Max and Dax Meet” is similar to that. For Max is nervous to meet his Aunt new member of the family. If you introduce the person or animals to the person or animal and see how things go.

Things may just turn out well for them and the animal or people being introduced. Who to say. In this book See what happen when Max meets Dax? Will they get along? Dax seem like he want to get to know Max but will it work out?

The pictures are done well. I really like that. The story is understandable. It easy to read. The pictures kind of tell the story and pleasant to look at. Good for young readers and children. It even got some lesson in the book about children and animals.

Horrid Henry? Far from it!

If you want action of the most octane, Hardcore Henry is the film you want.

The plot and stylings are pure first person shooter, with an anime bad guy, a re-respawning side character played by the indomitable Sharlto Copley and a mute protagonist who acts as your vehicle for some of the most insane stuntwork, free running and combat ever seen on the big screen.

Yes the movie favours style over substance, yes the plot if ridiculously derivative and 2-dimensional, but this film delivers exactly what it promises, which is a hardcore action experience through a gamer's lens.

There are in jokes a plenty too, from the wilhelm scream kill in the stairwell, to the character "wiping blood from his (our) eyes" and the soundtrack which ranges from high tempo dance to Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now", all of which adds to the light-hearted frame that surrounds the brutal violence.

Some wont like the shaky cam style, but for me it adds to the hyperactive nature of the whole film, and I enjoyed every minute, even the odd bit of body horror they threw in!

This book is written in two parts, the before and after. We are introduced during the after. It is in italics told from first person p.o.v. by an exiled bard. It is usually one to two pages sometimes more, it is at the beginning or end of each chapter usually letting people know what the next chapter is about. The before is told in first person p.o.v. by Tea (the main character) as a story to the bard. It is about how she became a bone witch and what a bone witch is also hints to why she was exiled.
Now there is a lot of description in the book about who dresses in which hua and what people look like and how they act and what they do.

If you want an action pacted fast paced book: This is not that book.

This book is what I would call a builder book. Its whole purpose is to build the story for the next book. it builds the world it is set in and helps you understand the characters motivations. A beautiful book, however, it can get draggy in the narrative. something that Tea does comment on in the after part of the book.

"When I heard Elizabeth Fraser for the first time, first of all I was so excited that they were based in Scotland and hearing her sing felt like I was in touch with alien life [laughs]. I heard it and I didn't even understand what she was saying but I could feel what she's saying. It was so emotive and so extraordinary. I felt like every time I listened – and I still have the same reaction – when I listen to these records I feel like I'm literally being transported in angel wings. I find it euphoric to listen to and nobody's ever sounded like her before. She's totally unique and just this extraordinary talent.
Funnily enough, I once met her at a Nick Cave concert in Edinburgh. She was there and I was just so in awe of this incredible woman – I also loved that she was so shy and so unassuming. She wasn't really a front person, more of an instrument using her voice.
I'm not a religious person, but I always think it's like music from the Gods. It's not of this world. I want them played at my funeral. I always say that to my husband: 'Play the Cocteau Twins all the way through my funeral, that's all I want' [laughs]."

didn't quite work for me
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Oren goes to thank his mum's neighbour for helping her when she fell, and he falls, HARD! Pete is married, though, right?

So, three things let this book down, for ME.

Strike one
Single person point of view. Only Oren has a say.

Strike two
First person, present tense. Just doesn't work for me.

Strike three
This was a very VERY short book, took me less than 30 minutes to read it. I have no idea why this lets it down, but you know me and my book feelings and this is what I feel!

BUT

Positive one
When Oren and Pete are on the same page for the first time, they are both straight into whatever *this* is between them.

Positive two
Loved Pete's ex-wife's reaction to finding Pete and Oren getting a little touchy feely.

Positive three
Loved the reaction of Pete's kids to their Extra-Daddy.

It is well written, and I saw no spelling or editing errors to spoil my reading. It was a *nice* read. (And you know how I feel about using that word!)

3 good solid stars
