Whatchareadin (174 KP) rated Bad At Love: A Shimmer Pointe Romance (Book 2) in Books
Apr 9, 2019
Eve Quinn is having fun with Justin Glenn, but this relationship is much different than the typical casual relationships she is used to. Could she possibly be falling in love with Justin and does he feel the same way? Justin is having as much fun with Quinn as she is with him. Being away from Shimmer Pointe during the week may have something to do with it, or is it something more. When they are both given a shock during Eve's birthday party, they have to decide what the next step for them will be.
Thank you to Sterling Keyes for the opportunity to read and review her book. This is the second book in the Shimmer Pointe series and it was just as good as the first. The stories are short(I read this one in less than an hour) and grab you right from the start.
Even though this book is short, it is chock full of interesting stuff. Love, kids, the beach, food, and even a hostage situation. There is never a dull moment in Shimmer Pointe. I'm intrigued to find out what is going to happen next with Eve and Justin as well as Charlotte and Theo. Will their love grow to marriage and growing families, or is this where their story ends. We shall wait to see.

Heather Cranmer (2721 KP) rated Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery in Apps
Oct 30, 2018
Graphics (1 more)
Fun
Takes awhile to earn energy and complete quests (2 more)
New chapters take awhile to be released/Game is not finished
Takes awhile to level areas up
I love Harry Potter, so I was thrilled to discover this game. I love the graphics, and the storyline is fairly interesting as it takes place before Harry Potter attended Hogwarts. It has some interesting characters as well. I love that I’m able to customize my character with hairstyles, clothes, and accessories.
The downside is that energy takes awhile to accumulate. It’s 4 minutes per 1 energy. Also, it takes forever to level up knowledge, empathy, etc the higher your level. Some friendships take forever to level up as well since you can only do activities to level up the friendship after so many hours (which the waiting is too long). New chapters take forever to get released. When I first downloaded this game, I thought it was a finished product. I didn’t realize the game wasn’t finished. I also don’t like competing against other houses as it’s a bit unfair considering most people are in Gryffindor and Slytherin, so there’s no way to win.
However, this is a fun game when there is a chapter released. I will definitely keep playing. I’ve already invested too much time and money (yes, there are micro transactions).

Whatchareadin (174 KP) rated Bootyversary in Books
Aug 5, 2019
Peyton and Lance are about to celebrate their one year Bootyversary. They have been making booty calls for the past year. With Lance in the military and shipping out every few weeks, it's hard for them to make a plan to be together. Plus, Peyton doesn't want to be with a man in the military. That was how she grew up and she didn't want to have to go through all the worry her mom went through every time her father was away. But they love each other, right? Will love conquer all?
Thank you to the authors and BookSprout for a copy of this book to read and review.
Another quick cute story from Frankie and C.M. For me, this one wasn't as exciting as the first book in the series Bootyogomy (The Booty Call Series #1) by Frankie Love. I think it was because I knew what was going to happen at the end. I still enjoyed the book and will read the rest of the series.
I never had the desire to date anyone in the military. Not for the same reasons as Peyton, but because I knew a few people in the military growing up and there were not my cup of tea. If you're looking for a quick steamy romance with a HEA, pick this one up.

Becs (244 KP) rated This Is The Life in Books
Oct 2, 2019
I actually ended up DNF-ing (Did Not Finish) this novel because I just couldn’t get into it. I read about 50 pages and was just so bored with the story, the writing, the plot. There just wasn’t any part of the story that appealed to me, which I find so hard to believe because I can generally get into any book and love it.
I will not be trying to reread this as it’s honestly one of those books I can never see myself getting into. When I first picked it up, the synopsis gave me a hint of a memoir style of reading and I absolutely love memoirs. But as I read, I was just blown away with how boring the writing was. There was no sense of wonder and even the story was just lacking that hint of storytelling that makes a story this grand thing, that catches your attention, and leaves you wanting more.
Don’t let my opinion on this affect whether you pick This Is the Life up for yourself, because you never know, you could love it!
“When she’d gone I said to Louis, ‘How come no one here has any worries?’ He looked at me, puzzled. ‘Everyone says “No worries,” ‘ I told him. ‘I can’t believe they don’t have any.’ “
