"… the first time I owned an album of my very own. I didn't pay for it with my pocket money, my sister Clare got given it by a boyfriend and she passed it on to me immediately. The Hipgnosis cover with the black and gold solarisation and the amp - it's a classic record sleeve. It's just a really brilliant album, a bridging album between the Tyrannosaurus Rex years and the full-on commerciality of Fly, and 'Telegram Sam' and 'Hot Love'. There's a great poster of Marc looking supercool in his Maida Vale flat with a mirror in the shape of a guitar, and illustrations of him by George Underwood, who famously went to school with David Bowie and punched him in the eye, causing 'the Bowie eye'."

"Todd Haynes’s gorgeous 1995 metaphor for the AIDS crisis, Safe, is no less timely today. Julianne Moore turns in an amazingly subtle performance as a rich white lady struggling with a mysterious autoimmune disease who retreats to a wellness community. Her character predates all the gluten free, anti-vaxxer, yoga-obsessed, Goop-reading, Lyme-diseased ladies of today and shows what empty, sad, colorless lives their “authentic selves” are left to lead . . . Namaste, motherfuckers. While Safe is all muted colors, on the other side of the spectrum, there’s the in-your-face brash vision of Terry Gilliam’s 1985 masterpiece Brazil. His plastic-surgery-victim women are camera-ready for a 2016 The First Wives of Beverly Hills reality show. I love this movie’s intoxicating mix of humor and horror."

Rocky Mountain Revenge by Rhonda Starnes is a fast-paced, suspense-filled story! I loved how Rhonda jumped right into the mystery from the first chapter, it caught and my interest right away and I enjoyed her writing style. The suspense was believable and very engaging (in an edge of your seat kind of way), and the circumstances the characters found themselves in were something I could see happening. I thought that Rhonda Starnes did a good job with the character's personalities and I liked the tensions and understories that she created with them. I liked Grace’s dedication toward her family, and I thought Even’s character was well developed in a short time!
From someone who has read almost every Love Inspired Suspense book I will tell you that it is one of my favorites

The Third Avenue takes us on another breakneck-speed adventure with spy, Sean Richardson. This time however, the danger comes from China - or rather a breakaway faction called Red Spear. Sean’s job is to infiltrate the organisation, find out what they want to achieve and how, and destroy them. Of course, not everything goes to plan. But there’s no need to worry, because Sean and his team have everything under control!

I love these books. Sean Richardson is reminiscent of James Bond, and always seems to be getting himself out of serious trouble - that’s after he’s got himself into it in the first place!
I hope there’s more to come from Sean Richardson, because I’ll be reading the books!
