Alice (117 KP) rated The Viscount Who Loved Me (Bridgertons, #2) in Books
Mar 3, 2021
It's a vicious cycle, I watched Bridgerton, I needed more Anthony Bridgerton in my life so I read this book, now I need season two because I need more Anthony Bridgerton in my life.
I relate to Kate Sheffield in two ways
1. I also am the slightly less desirable older sister
2. I am in love with Anthony Bridgerton against my better judgement
If you told me that my first read of the year was going to be a regency romance I would have laughed in your face but the jokes on me I guess because I was so pleasantly surprised by this book and just how well it was written. Maybe all the old ladies who bought all the mass-market paperbacks from the charity shop I worked in had some points.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Him (Him & Her, #1) in Books
Jan 6, 2021
3.5 stars.
I was really enjoying this up until the 88% mark, after they'd (mainly Sarah) figured out what idiots they had been for the last seven years, and then I kinda lost interest because I was only reading it for their relationship and it sort of went somewhere else.
But for that first 88% I was really enjoying it and the way Will acted around Sarah, both in the past and the present, was really cute and I really liked him. It was love!
On the other hand Sarah was a bit annoying in her inability to believe he loved her after listening to the lies of one jealous girl all those years ago and then pushing him away at every opportunity but she came through in the end.

Russ Troutt (291 KP) rated Let Him Go (2020) in Movies
Feb 6, 2021
I've come here to help, help you decide what movie to watch this weekend. If there's two things I love it's family and good story telling, and you better saddle up and hold on tight for one thrilling ride of a family story in Let Him Go. I don't have to tell you how great Diane Lane and Kevin Costner are in it because they're always amazing, as is the supporting cast, but this the first movie I've seen from Writer/Director Thomas Bezucha and I'm now a fan. While technically listed as a 2020 release we know not much really got proper releases last year, and it's a shame this movie isn't getting proper promotion, but I'm calling this a 2021 release; my favorite of the year so far.

I love this series, I think the world that has been created is brilliant. I thoroughly enjoy the every growing stories and magical elements. I really feel immersed with this story.
The reason for the low rating is I think the could have been 200 odd pages shorter, I found the first 300 pages quite dull. I really dislike the language used as the voice of Rowan - so cliche, get me a bucket! When there were large sections of this story I did struggle to go, very glad that Manon was introduced. I'm also perhaps a little harsh as I was a Celaena an Chaol fan.
I will definitely be reading the next book after that ending and all the possibilities.
