"And then for something light and fluffy I would have to say Trading Places (laughing). Hilarious. Light, and fun, and hilarious, and a lot of laughs. I had to throw one comedy in there. I remember the first time I saw it — I don’t remember exactly where I was; I was young — I think the first time I saw Trading Places I was 15 years old, 16 years old, something like that. Eddie Murphy was just in his comedic prime; I think he came off Saturday Night Live not long before that. It’s absolutely a great premise and really funny, really enjoyable. I just loved it."

While I personally despise the label, I'm afraid that this book fits into the "chick-lit" category perfectly. Seriously, a book about a young woman's struggles with her nasty female boss who takes away her whole personal life in the name of fashion could hardly be something you'd see your macho male plumber reading, now could it? So yes, it's 100% pure, unadulterated "chick-lit", and anyone not looking for some fluffy, light reading material may close this review right now - I doubt you'll be interested in reading more. This book was not meant to be an easy fluffy read. This book is going to bring out ferocity, anger, pain, and sadness. It is wonderfully written and beautifully poetic. Each character has a back story that unfolds in ways you aren’t expecting. You root for one side then switch as you find out more and more.
While I began with a dislike of the main character I think that was supposed to happen? As the book progresses she got less naive.
Perfect for fans of fantasy, retribution, and magic. But be forewarned that this book will destroy you with each page and require some serious reflection before you can move on.

Thank you for letting me read this egalley.

First off I want to say how much this book blew my mind. I went in thinking this would be a fluffy story and man was I wrong. This book is so much more. There is drama, love, family, and an overarching idea that sometimes life may look bad from your point of view but others may see something else. Perspective. This book has it and it makes you sit up and listen.
Poppy and Claire are sister goals and I will forever root for them.
If you are in the mood to be moved and feel all while getting that warm feeling of love pick up this book.

A heartwarming story
I’ll be honest, this story had me from the get go simply from being set in my home city Manchester. It's so enjoyable to read a book set in a familiar surrounding, and I’m not sure I’ve ever read one set here before, and it made this book even more entertaining.

Story wise, it’s a bit fluffy and cheesy in parts, but it’s still a heartwarming tale of love and friendship, with a bit of humour and even sadness thrown in. All 4 of the main characters are well developed and easily relatable, and it’s one of those quick and easy well written books that you can’t help but find enjoyable.

I've been wanting to read this novel for a long time, as Ahsoka Tano is my favorite character from the Clone Wars cartoon, and second-favorite in the entire Star Wars series. (Because General Leia exists.) I picked the book up at a used book store in Oregon when we went home from the holidays, but I've just had so many other things to read. I finally read it for May 4th, Star Wars Day.

I didn't like it as much as I wanted to. I've read another book by Johnston, That Inevitable Victorian Thing, which I enjoyed but thought was too fluffy. And comparing this to the last Star Wars book I read - Phasma - this tilts that way too. It's not as fluffy as TIVT - people die, and the Empire is the ever-looming possible doom that it always is - but it just didn't feel as gritty as Phasma did. Perhaps it shouldn't; Phasma is a villain, and her backstory is suitably dark. And Ahsoka, here, is floundering a little in the wake of Order 66, and being alive when none of her compatriots, to her knowledge, are.

I did enjoy learning how she got her lightsabers back, and the story should lead well into the Rebels cartoon, which I have yet to watch.

So I don't know. It was an entertaining book, and it was effective at furthering Ahsoka's story, it just...wasn't quite what I wanted.

Let the Game Begin
Ever wonder what it would be like to play a game directed by a man people only know the name of? Enter the wold of Caraval, a game like no other.
This book really had my attention from the beginning. There were some surprises along the way; however, some parts were a little predictable.
I gave this book 8/10 because I feel like the characters could be more developed and I didn't care for some of the predictability.
I would definitely recommend Caraval, especially to those who like mysteries. It was fun to play along with Scarlet and she enters the crazy wold that Legend has created.

This was quite a light, fluffy read, but it did have it's problems - not just the occasionally Typos! For a 29 year old New Yorker, Emily could be really naive - I could understand she might not know what Black pudding was made from, but not knowing what a full English Breakfast was or the words 'snogging' and 'bloke'? Now really!

There also seemed to be some confussion over the places the tour was visiting - it sounded like Jane Austen's House in Chawton, but then there were other references to Chawton Manor house - which is something different.

Also not sure about driving from Bath to Chesshire for a day visit in the depths of Winter.

OK, but nothing much to write home about overall.
