Set in a world where you are punished for making ethical or moral mistakes. If you are found to have made a bad decision, have lied, have stolen, have been disloyal or have stepped out of line, you are sent to trial and if are found guilty are branded with an F on various parts of your body depending on your error of judgment. From then on, the persons life is controlled by whistle blowers and the rules they in force. It's a good setup and I've sped through it - it's not the best written YA book I've come across but something about it has meant I haven't been able to put it down.

Sarah (7799 KP) rated The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society in Books

It takes serious topics and although parts of the book do highlight the serious and disturbing topics of the war, it sandwiches them in between massive sections of saccharine sweet fluffy happiness. Its a bit much. Juliet and her friends are fairly endearing characters for the most part (except for the aforementioned fluffiness), and I did enjoy the way the book is written entirely in letters. Its just a shame it doesn't concentrate more on taking the story a little more seriously.
Although I haven't seen the film yet, I'd be surprised if it isn't slightly better than the book. And it's not often I say this!

Heather Cranmer (2721 KP) rated Mr. Iglesias in TV

The first couple of episodes are pretty cheesy, but this show does get much better! The casting is fantastic, and the comedy timing is perfect. It's obvious that all the cast members love acting in the show. It's not all just laughs though. Mr. Iglesias does focus on some serious issues and school issues with each episode. All the issues are tackled head on in such a great way.
I would definitely recommend this show to everyone who needs a good laugh. It's one of the best sitcoms around!
