Maybe not Terry Pratchett at his best, but having said that: it's still better than many other books I've read!

Ostensibly featuring the wizards of Unseen University, this is really more about life below stairs, focusing more on new characters (who work in the kitchen and 'below stairs') than on the wizards themselves. That's not to say the wizards don't have a major role to play - just that they are not the main focus of the novel, which is also built around the game of 'foot-the-ball' changing from the all-out scrap in the streets it starts out as to the more modern, played-in-a-stadium type of game it becomes at the end, in pretty much the same way that the 'real' game of football (or soccer) grew out of the medieval version.

From rags to the Gridiron
The true story of of NFL professional player Michael Oher. It is the story about him how he was forgotten about and was being pushed through they system until the mother of a family feels for him and takes him in. The family teaches him about being part of the family and shows him he is important. They also stride to help him because of his raw size and talent joing the high school football team. Though his grades are a problem they all help him teachers included to strive and become a better student. The story is also the tale of how he made it into college and into the nfl and getting not only his high school degree but, his college degree. With out the help of the Tuohy family he might have ended up no where in life and had no future.

A wonderful insight
I grew up supporting Liverpool FC and do to this day. I remember the highs of the eighties and the lows of the nineties. This candid and frank collection of interviews with both players and managers delves into the reasons behind Liverpools gradual decline in English football in the nineties. Its a turthful behind the scenes diagnosis and autopsy on a Liverpool side who failed to be the dominant force that they were in the Eighties. From player ego's, mis-managment and an unwillingness to modernise this bares it all and is well worth a read if you have read the first insalment (The Red Machine). There is also a third book entitled Ring of Fire which i shall also be reading. A very good read and pute to bed some of the myths associated with 'The Spice Boys' :)

If your a fan of snatch or lockstock then this is the movie for you.
Full of great actors and fantastic witty dialogue.
I was entirely confused by the football stadium scene where I was convinced Jack Whitehall was sitting in front of Dry eyes and Matthew. There was also a goof where the frozen dead body repeatedly blinked and went from staring wide eyed to having his eyes closed.
"The pig scene" has officially been overused in the film/TV industry but this movie had me in a pleasant mix of horror and hysterics regardless.
Rosalind is such a badass character I was disappointed by her lack of screen time though.
I really recommend going to see this movie, preferably in the cinema. Great movie, great script, great cast. Dam, my brain is too fried this evening to think of a better word than "great" haha
