Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated The Treacherous Teddy (A Bear Collector's Mystery #5) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Ashleigh and Brad get involved when one of their neighbors is found dead. Was it a hunting accident or murder? There was very little teddy bear connection in this book, but I still absolutely loved it. The characters and humor are outstanding.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated The Fault Tree in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Blind mechanic Cadence Moran is walking home from work one night when she "witnesses" a murder. Trying to help the police only attracts the killer's attention. I found the story frustratingly slow for a thriller and the ending completely unbelievable.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated The Animated Man: A Life of Walt Disney in Books
Mar 9, 2018
I found this to be an interesting and balance biography of Walt Disney. The author played media critic a bit too much, which bothered me, but in the end I walked away with a clearer picture of a true American success story.

Kristy H (1252 KP) rated Nights in Rodanthe in Books
Feb 13, 2018
I picked up this book as a film version is coming out and I must admit, I'll probably watch it at some point. The love story itself for this novel is serviceable, but I could predict the entire plot within the first 20 pages and, at times, actually found myself cringing and rolling my eyes as I was reading certain lines. Not fun.
Truth or fiction??

Found this series very enjoyable - maybe a bit too close to possible reality. The main storyline is gripping, and so are the subplots. The ending made me wonder if Grace is likely to join forces with Hicks and Renko. Presuming - hoping - there will be a second series.

Sean Farrell (9 KP) rated Zombie in Books
Mar 15, 2018
Started off kind of with mixed feelings. I was somewhat drawn into the story, but found the author's use of "young-sounding" words to be a bit forced. After the first couple chapters however I was either so hooked I was able to ignore that, or he stopped doing it. Either way, wound up being a dark but enjoyable little book.

Michelle (114 KP) rated Gladiator (2000) in Movies
Mar 16, 2018
I am not one really for fight type films, yet with saying that I found Gladiator a very enjoyable film . One of Russel Crow's better films. At the time of watching this movie I was a big fan of Joaquin Phoenix . Enjoyed Russel's character as well as the other actors characters and have watched this movie a number of times.

Can Freddy be reborn
Alice is pregnant and our good friend Freddy belives he has found a way back and that is thorugh the dreams of her unborn child. Can freddy come back to reek terror in the real world again.
At least least this one had a better story line not the same old revenge story we have become use to.

Cyn Armistead (14 KP) rated Tracker (Foreigner, #16) in Books
Mar 1, 2018
I loved this book in some ways, but I hated the ending, which didn't wrap up most of the plot threads. I also found the constant rehashing of prior events to be tiresome. Let's be honest: nobody is going to be able to follow this series by starting anywhere but at the beginning, and those who do already know all that stuff!

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated Blood Matters (Roxanne Prescott, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When adoption guru Sam Brennan is found bludgeoned to death in his house, it starts San Diego Sheriff Department detective Roxanne Prescott on a trail of long hidden secrets. The plot was uneven and really seemed to slow down in second half.
