Sam McCain, part time lawyer and PI, investigates when the wife of a political hopeful is found dead in the trunk of the new Ford Edsel. I really enjoyed this trip back to the late 1950's, although the plotting could have been a little better. I do plan to read more in the series.

Just as Carrie and Greg might be ready to start a relationship, danger comes to their resort town. First the dishwasher in Carrie's restaurant is murdered, then her waitress starts acting strangely. What's going on? This is more romantic suspense than a true mystery, but I found the story compelling and the climax very suspenseful.

When Lee goes to pick up the judge for this year's Winter Festival, she finds him drunk and a real jerk. Dropping him off in a hotel room seems like the best idea, until he is found murdered with Lee as the prime suspect. This is the seventh in the series and will certainly please fans of light cozies.

This entry in the tie in series finds Monk and Natalie on vacation in Paris. But Monk doesn't start to relax until he finds a recent skull mixed in with all the ancient ones in the catacombs. I found the beginning a bit slow, but the mystery was engaging and the book was absolutely hilarious.

In a town devoted to bookstores, Tricia Miles owns the mystery bookstore. When her neighbor, owner of the cook book store, is found murdered, Tricia jumps in to find out who did it. The book was entertaining with interesting characters, but the story was a little weak. I do plan to give the series a second chance.

Callie is looking at the non-profit her in laws started to honor the memory of her late husband. But her home coming is anything but peaceful when a stink bomb goes off in the local church and a body is found nearby. Once again, the plot is great, and the development for Callie is very good.

Presley Parker's latest party is a wine tasting in the beautiful Napa Valley. But murder follows her when a despised environmental crusader is found murdered after the party. Convinced the cops have the wrong killer, she starts investigating. I find these books fun. The plot was a bit uneven, but overall an enjoyable read.

I was really disappointed when I realized where the plot was going - Christ's bones? Come on, Reichs. But she did a very good job with the plot, giving the reader plenty of intrigue without ever getting into any mystical nonsense. I found the references to The Da Vinci Code highly amusing (there may have been some that I missed, but I haven't read the book, and I was only half-way paying attention when I saw the movie).

One of Sweeney's students is found murdered with burial jewelry on his body. Because of his connection to a wealthy and powerful family, it becomes a huge case. But can Sweeney figure out what that jewelry means? Another good mystery, but I didn't care for the new character of Timothy Quinn and his sub-plot.

Ok seems I missed something here?? This film has great reviews but I found it very slow and the fights are far to quick, barely fights at all. I don't know of the other Zatoichi films this was inspired by but this felt like a film made 30 years ago. Some of the scenes become very boring and repetitive along with minimal dialogue. The end fight is good but it's a long slow numb build up to it!

I thought it was quite average given the hype.
