Emma (519 KP) rated Family Likeness in Books
Jun 15, 2019
This was a book picked by my monthly book club, at first i was a bit dubious as to wether i would like it or not. At first I found the story a bit slow going, but by a quarter of the way through I was loving it. I liked the difference of having two stories running side by side with each other, and also how neatly the author ties both of the stories up and the end of the book.

For me parts of this confused me.. and then found me later.. lol. It was a very exciting book.. it was fast paced.. it moved.. and it was very intriquing and interesting. I couldn't wait for it to be over... and yet I didn't want it to end.. there is love.. hardships.. anger.. parts made me smile.. parts made me want to throw things against the wall.. lol it was very good story and im glad i got to review it

starwarsluvr (236 KP) rated Eve of Darkness (Marked, #1) in Books
Jan 30, 2018
I was expecting a lot better then it was, however it wasn't a bad book just got confusing and the characters kind of annoyed me. I did love cain and abel I will admit and Eve rocked but their trio conflict annoyed me. I felt like neither man seriously wanted to be with her and it was just a game to them. I enjoyed it but found myself fighting to make it through to the end and glad that it was over.

ArecRain (8 KP) rated A Fashionable Indulgence (Society of Gentlemen, #1) in Books
Jan 18, 2018
This was my first time reading a novel like this but it is certainly not my last. I cannot think of a single thing missing or should be added. I love historical romance and wanted to try an MM romance. I found that I enjoyed it much more than usual romance because the couple was not dealing with the same old problems you read about in every historical romance. It was something fresh and new, with an amazing lead couple.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated If You Give a Mouse a Cookie in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A creative progression story that starts with a simple act of kindness, giving a mouse a cookie. From there, however, things progress until they loop back around.
The book is simple but filled with great illustrations. And the journey is so creative. I missed this book until I read it with my niece and found it absolutely charming.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated Slay Ride (Christopher Miller Holiday Thriller, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A complaint about a bad shuttle driver leads to a kidnapping and possible murder. Meanwhile, FBI agent Christopher Miller is called back to the field for a robbery that is more than it appears. Yes, these two plots cross, and the suspense keeps the pages turning. However, I found the language and gore in the book to be too much for my tastes.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated 11th Hour (Women's Murder Club, #11) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The Women's Murder Club only takes on two cases this time around. First, there are the skulls found in an actor's garden. Then there's the man killing drug dealers. I was actually surprised to find that the ladies worked together to solve one of these cases, which hasn't happened for a while. In the end, it's a Patterson book, but it was fun.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated The Final Detail (Myron Bolitar #6) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Myron returns to New York from an unannounced vacation when he finds out that business partner has been accused of murdering one of their clients. But she didn't really do it, did she? Outside of one scene I really didn't care for, I found this book to be a very good mystery with great characters. I have a feeling I'll be reading more.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated The Fairy-Tale Detectives (The Sisters Grimm, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Sabrina and Daphne Grimm have just been sent to live with the grandmother they didn't know they had. The bigger surprise is that they are now responsible for keeping the fairy tale characters from causing trouble. Like the giant running around town…. Yes, this is a kid's series, but I found it charming and entertaining once it got past the slow start.
